hi novita,

thanks for the concern, well, im thinking about that yeah, but i guess, this is somethign i can negotiate as we go along, specially on the next increment perhaps, i mean... things are possible specially if u have proven yourself worthy right? ;).. i must prove my value for now.

i guess its that way all over the gcc, no country escapes inflation, if not the rent, its the commodities. im also hoping for the best!

cheers

olrak ... you should be ok coming here then ... good luck and all the best with the decision.

One point to consider ... rent here been up and up very fast for the past 3 yrs maybe more. Do you think you can ask your employer to give you an acommodation not allowance? That way save you a headache not to think about the rent increase.

@ Novita

ive been in the middle east for the past 3 yrs, and now im also here in one of the gcc countries.

ive been to qatar during my interview, and i'd say its more conducive and a bit more open than where i am right now.

@ Cardozo, well.. if i tell you which sector, you'll definitely know which company it is, im pretty sure. Ill send you a PM

olrak ... westbay area flat would be very expensive. Beverly Hills towers and the like cost you like QR 18.000 a month, but thats really a nice posh one.

I would say go somewhere around Bin Omran ... and that area.

Have you ever been here before? do you think you and your wife will like it here?

thanks for the comment novita!

as much as i wanted western kind of living, i guess a decent furnished flat (perhaps 1 or 2 BR) will be fine for me. besides, its just me and my wife for now, no kid that will take up much space yet :)

if i work in west bay area, which area would u recommend me to find a good flat? pehraps an accessible one, also near to the commercial places like stores, groceries, hospital etc.

thanks!

sorry ... i did not see a supporting housing allowance. You can get an apartment with that money. If you want a house / villa you will have to prepare to pay min QR 15.000

Your offer seems reasonable in all.

Good luck.

hi novita,

No kids yet

Annual return Flight for the family is includes, yes. sorry i forgot to mention that.

i guess thats the reason why the supporting housing allowance is there, to cope up with the rental prices.
