Hi everyone. I'm applying for a position in Doha, its a midlle level manager position (A profesional (Engineer wit MBA) with commercial responsabilities) and I would like to know which should be the expected salary.
As I could read in this forum the monthly living cost por a single person can be summarize in:

8000QR rent for a small flat (50 square meters)
2000QR for leasing a car
2000QR grosery and other living cost
------
12000QR for a standart living

which means 40000USD a month. Is this OK??? Without saving a coin???

Please help me to decide.

Thanks
MCappel

2000 for living expenses is low. You have to account that he is including petrol, water and electricity, telephones, food, entertainement, clothing and expenses for children as well (if you have any God help you, school fees alone can be murder).

I would put that number up to 5000 +

i think you are trying to say 4000USD?

i m sure if the company provide you with transportation and accomodation, 4000 USD will be more than enough for you and your family with a little bit left for savings, but if all is excluded, think carefully as you d be paying almost half of your salary to these 2 most important things leaving you with little bit to spare for foods~

1 USD = 3.65 QR

How you get QR 12000 equal to USD 40,000?

Obviously 12000 to 13000 is the Minimum / Must / Standard cost of living in Qatar for people with small family and live in 2 Bedroom flat. But your salary should be more than this so that you are able to save something. Otherwise there is no point in moving to Qatar.

Your salary and savings all depends on the cost of your accommodation. Try to negotiate at least QR 10,000 as accommodation allowance. Even if you rent a QR 8,000 flat you would still have some cushion for inflation.
