End of Service gratuity

A Nepalese friend of mine is employed in a 5 star Doha hotel. She will complete her 2 year contractual obligation to them in September. The hotel routinely ignore Qatari Labour Law 54 on the absolute entitlement of ALL workers with at least 1 years service to an ESB. I work here in Doha in downstream QP company and I have a trade union background and am a HR professional - my inclination is to go and break the door down and throttle the HR Manager as being instrumental in taking the piss out of people who are unwilling or incapable of making a representation for themselves.........however, before I do that, I'd welcome any thoughts from more sober thinking and less involved of the QL readership.

Ive heard so many stories like this...but sadly no feedback or actions from the ministry...speacially if your alone to complaint. or sometimes employees dont know how to speak the arabic language or english were its hard for them to express their feelings or to explain their sides.

Obvious step.

Is there any contract signed and verified?

else they should pay the consequences of paying at least QR 10,000.00 and the benefit of being blacklisted at the Ministry of Labor on Visa Issuance.

The Ministry of Labor can only act if there is an actual complaint of the matter with valid proof and evidences.

...taken up with the Ministry of Labour. The Hotel is in gross voilation and I'am sure corrective measures would be taken.

If the law is ignored, maybe reporting would do something.

And yet, maybe not.
