Employee Basic Salary Ratio (unfair)
Dear QL,
I am working in a local IT Solution providing company for the last 3 years. So far, every year my company is increasing my gross salary by incrementing the allowances but my basic salary remains the same as i had on 1st day of my job.
My point is normally the ratio of the basic and gross salary is 2:3 but my company is not maintaining this ration at all for anyone. As End-of-Service amount depends on the Basic Salary, most likely my company is saving their EOS expenses/cost by not increasing the Basic Salary of any Employee.
Can anyone guide me if the above is legal, ethical and how does Labor Law covers this? Is this sort of practice common in Qatar?
Many Thanks,
SAM.
The employer's attitude of "Take it or Leave it" is one of the reason of employee's sufferings (feeling of fairness), especially when it comes to expats like us.
@TheSurprised, yes there is a huge difference between Legal and Ethical.. but if we raise our voices for Ethical, it will soon become Legal. We can try atleast :)
"Every time your quit, someone else gets your prize"
