Can't decide???

hi guys!

i was offered a job with the QAR4500 salary. transpo\location QAR520, tickets, furniture allowance for 5 years, and a maintenance allowance thereafter. housing allowance QAR2700.

with the current posts i've been reading, i am greatly discouraged to pursue the offer. i read that the house rents have gone up. i will be bringing in my family with me, eventually, and my housing should kick to around QAR5000. i do not want to share a flat. my wife is a professional coffeemaker. she had proper training with an italian coffee-maker. certified. so we're thinking she might easily get on board any coffeshops like starbucks immediately.

i'd like to ask some questions though.

could anyone please help me out with prices of some items there like baby formula (milk), i've got twins, cost of gasoline/liter, a kilo of beef, chicken and a tray of eggs.

i am currently in KSA. here, a liter of gasoline is just 0.45, kilo of beef is 14, chicken 12, tray of eggs 8.95 and veggies are available in community markets cheap.

the company also offered education assistance, bonuses, club memberships, full medical and dental for me and the whole family.

basically, my concern is will the basic salary be enough?

thanks!

Sorry! don't know much about Philippine School here as my kids go to British School, Because my hubby is British.

Thanks! Nicaq25 is there to answer your questions!

But I do know from my friends that they follow exactly the same curriculum in Philippines, also they start on June end in April. British Schools starts either end of August or beginning of September end on June completely different from Philippine School.

Sorry! again that's all I know!

Just keep dancing, it will do you good!

kiarajane, you seem to know about the tuition fee rates of the phil schools there, could you please tell me how much?

i've been looking all over for that information ever since i saw how expensive all the other schools are (i'm bringing my kids with me, and one of them will be in 1st yr HS this schoolyear), however, there's no available information anywhere online. i can't call them, coz i'm still here in the phils. and their email addresses dont work (my email to them bounced back!)

are they also following the 3 terms that other schools do? or is it the same here?

there seems to be something wrong here. Quddus is not a kabayan. He's from India. although, there is nothing wrong with interacting with any other race. just to set the record straight.

But I am patient...hahaha

All works/kind of job can be learned depending on your willingness.

You're right too, people who are well-versed w/ software are highly paid here. But u have a good offer at present too!

Hopefully it will come by the power of my PRAYERS!!!

Its depend on your lifestyle I completly agreed with you!! But wht I realised after a deep servy, ppl are getting much more than what they offered in IT. Basically, I am Software engineer currently working for IBM India for the last 3 years.

Coming from IT background and entering in Airlines industry might be difficult and it may cause problem in future to my professional career... infact Abu Dhabi commerical bank offer me 15000Dh .. just waiting for there final Call.. Do remember me in your valuable prayers!!

It I were you I will take the offer. QA is a very good company. You can change your job after completion of your contract period. I think they will give you the release after serving your contact period. I havn't met a person who has resigned from QA so far to varify the issue.

By jrdebug• 30 Jan 2007 12:22

gross monthly should be around QAR8,000 just the same as you quddus. actually, i am already receiving a higher salary than what i was offered there. and the position is lower also. but my main goal is just to penetrate the qatar market aside from the fact that the organization i am joining is quite prestigious. i'm sure both parties will benefit from this.

i am supposed to bring my family after 3 months but i would let things wait til after a year or until the end of my daughter's school year.

thanks again!

You can searched for 1b/r flat here.

You're offer is good as a Filipino.

Even how much salary/offer u have, if you're lifestyle goes beyond, still u will live unsatisfied.

It's okay...

Cost of living here and in Saudi are the same. In our experienced here in Qatar they are more generous than any part of GCC.

But! that is depends on your category.

As a Filipino your offer is quite good as for a start and they have Philippine School here for your children and their school fees are not as expensive as British and American School.

Jobs for your wife are easy to find especially she's trained for this kind of job, as peoples favorite place to hang out here are coffee shops. Hope she get a job soon so she's able to help you to have an additional income.

When we first came down here the impression I get is the Qatari are very friendly and very civilized, until now we never have a problem with them compare living in Saudi where most of people are into keeping on eye to what others people do and put you into trouble, Here you won't feel that way!!!

So, Good luck for you and your wife!!!

Mabuhay!!!

Do unto others, what you want to do unto you!!!

Kabayan,

For me its just okay for a small family & hopefully your wife will be hired immediately.

It's common here that salaries are based from where country u are. It's a good start for you since you're new here.

Well, foods does'nt cost much & in fact i have a lower offer than you just i consider everything slowly but surely.

Or it's better to bring your family here maybe after 2-3 mos of adjustment.

WELCOME!!!
