It all depends on where you're from.

You are right. Those are averages for the government and government related companies.in the private and especially in the construction sector it is worst. When thousands of unskilled labourers are earning riyals and skill workers earning 1000/1200 riyals i doubt how you can get such averages

Point is that is never an average salary , and a magazine can proudly put this data. Might be government sector data.

And, by the way, statistics can always be 'stream-lined' to please the group who has asked for it. Neither do they give the sample size, the distribution by nationality or gender, by age, or any other demographic data. In one word: a pretty useless publication!

Okay, it applies to the government sector. How else would they be able to get reliable data from the private sector?

The average monthly salary in the private sector was QR6,883, which is more than thrice less than average in the government sector (QR22,781), while in semi-government a pay of about QR18,700 is expected, and about QR2,548 for domestic employee, the findings revealed.

WT: I too initially thought the same, but then I assumed that there are unlikely to be local skilled agricultural and fisheries workers....

Mayhaps I'm wrong -
