am i getting enough bargain?
i am a licensed architect offered an interior designer position for doha with a salary of
basic - 5500 qatar riyal
free housing
but it has been 6mos since the offer was made, i have gone thru my medical and stuffs but they havent issued my work permit till now, so i am stuck here in my country
however, i have thought of going to qatar at my own expense... so as to make it faster
i told it to my employer and he said they will offer me the same salary
i think it is not fair since i have offered to travel at my own expense they will only have to convert my visa to work permit.
???
can i just get another job in doha when i come there via tourist visa? will there be more offer or higher offer?
try to apply another job...

stay where you are now. forget about that offer and start looking for a new job.
Engineers and Architects are in high demand now. AND. If you come here looking for a job, you will be risking the package you would get.

Sorry.... It is just a long shot... I've guessed you're not into it...
But in case you know some... you can PM....(joke)
hey, i am talking ONLY about LEGAL ways! no monkey business! I hate it!
Especially when it comes to driving license! driving license might be obtained only in ONE way: a perfect driving!!
Yeah, and if it’s some agency, who promised her a job, it’s even more difficult.. I think gvrmt not going to re-open this traffic again… if she could find a decent job, high level position with some strong respectful company, probably this company would be able to get an approval for her, regardless of her nationality.. but if it’s some agency.. nah.. forget about it..
and yes, as lovinni said, she might find a company who already has an approved visa for Pinay/gal (they could get it before it has been banned)...
...Also, the guy can marry her though and bring her on Family visa… but this is a different story, I guess..
Thanks Qatarisun for taking the time to clarify my query.
Your statement "But as everything in qatar, there are always the ways to find the solution and resolve the issue... ", seem interesting to me, specially that I'm having a problem with my driving license..:)
business or tourist visa is limited to 28 days only and cant be extended as per new rule. if u intend to come and look for a job with these types of visa, you will surely run out of time.
unless you can find a company who have an available filipina visa...all they have to do is transfer it...
most companies apply for working visa accdg to your nationality and most of the times application gets rejected...

not sure about it.. but i think even a visitor's visa is very difficult to be issued...
anyway, she cannot obtain a working visa while she is in her country (i mean nobody can).. the procedure is:
-to find a job (sponsor);
-then sponsor has to get a visa approval for her/his nationality and gender (let's say, Indian/Male);
- then sponsor can bring the person in Qatar based on this approval;
- then sponsor transfers this particular person under this approved visa.
.. So with the pinay's gal the process is stopped at the stage of approval of Phillipina/Female. They do not approve this combination.
I hope it clarifies things..
But as everything in qatar, there are always the ways to find the solution and resolve the issue... ;)
Can someone clarify.... is all types of visa for girl from "her country" is banned or only for work visas and to a particular industry, say construction???
Is this ban, only for "her country"??
immigration is getting tighter nowadays...carla better wait for a working visa or otherwise seek opportunities in other countries...

lovinni, visas for gals from her country are banned..nobody knows for how long... so it's not about getting a job, it's about getting a visa..
coming to doha with a business or tourist visa can be so risky. looking for a job that suits you and expecting your visa to be transferred. its like passing the eye of a needle but depends on your luck!

try to get ANY visa to Qatar first, darling, then you can say what is fair and what is unfair... They don't convert your visa into ANY visa, just because they CANNOT.. and nobody can...
