for the 3K lodging allowance, you will survive but on limited "extra curricular activities". The 6K, you can send half of it to your family and keep some as savings or for personal expenses. I knew a lot of our "kababayan" earning a little bit lower than that but is happy working here. When you're here, you can always source-out other jobs in other neighboring countries. Of course, finish your contract first and be patient.

don't expect that you will be getting the exact job description on your title....there are situations here that they will source out an engineer from our country and will end up here working as technician...kaya kung mapride kang tao...think more than a hundred times...

My fellow kabayan, if you are a bachelor then the offer "may" be feasible.

If you have plans of taking your wife with you here in time, better think twice.

You will go crazy with the inflation and yes, Qatar is a very expensive place to live in.

"what about inflation and the high cost of living here"

"Applicable to all SEA and Far East as well" doesn't make a difference

TCOM - They come here knowing that they can earn at least twice/trice of what they are getting in their home country :)

MR - right but when they come here and see the pay scale of the others in the same field they get disappointed and sad and then start cribbing over it
