Is 22k QR / month good enough for IT consulta
Hi Everybody :)
I am 27 from Middle Europe and single... I have 4 years experience as IT Technical consultant working usually for mobile operators...I have been offerd 22k QR /month all inclusive...
basic 14k / month
housing allowance 7.5k /month
transport 0.8k / month
I have Masters in Computer science...
If I come to Doha I would only work work and work so maximum saving mode of living :)
How much would I save per month?
Thank you!
Lets see..
22K - flat.
- 7 accommodation
- 2 car
- 1.5 food
- 1 other expenses.
- 5 living ok. (high estimate, may compensate for the above)
Being Bosnian, saving 6 p/m.
Excellent.
DO IT.
Saving 10k (even with 2k/month car payments) is going to be very easy. But there are going to be initial costs that are associated with moving into a new country.
They also offer 1 free air ticket to fly home once per year, 30 paid days for holiday and it is also expected that I will be travelling around Middle East and Africa region for a maximum of 6 montnhs...I am not sure if they provide daily allowances when travelling to other country...Here in Europe when I travel company is paying 150 QR / day for daily allowance (they call it "cost of life")...so If I get these daily allowances for travelling in MEA region on top of offered 22k /month full package it would be more then acceptable for me :)
Thx everybody for replies :) Currently at home I own 1 bedroom apartment and 40k QR car...with my current earnings I am able to save 2000 QR /month...If I can save much more in Doha I would accept it...it has to be around 8k QR saving to consider living alone without my family and close friends in foreign country :(
offer. Yes its better to buy a car as u can always sell it but if its rent-a-car then u r loosing money and at the end u dont have a car i mean u dont own it.Like what Magic dragon said look for ur accomodation urself you will save a lot
A decent car to rent will be 1300 to 2000 QR. You may well consider a car loan and pay back this amount monthly. Then the car will be yours in the end. Basic food is cheap, extravagant foreign food is expensive, approximately European prices.
Are you fit with Microsoft's HPC?
Thx for humour :) How much would be average cost for food per month? average cost for car rent? They are offering me permanent contract so should I consider buying a car instead of renting?
It is a good offer for a single guy. You will likely save from your housing allowance as well, assuming you take a room-based accommodation only.

If you just work you can save all of it. (Other people eat and drink sometimes).
