21000 QAR Salary - enough?

brin

I'm being offered a transfer for approx 21000 QAR per month. This is base and car allowance combined. Plus, each month I'm bonused on the profitability of the office which can range from nil to thousands. I'm single (except for my two cats :) ).... am I going to be able to live well on this? Would be looking at a 2 bedroom place and I'd purchase a vehicle outright cash so no monthly payments to worry about. Qatar is income tax-free, correct?
Would appreciate anyone's comments.

Guys

I am thinking of moving to Qatar, did you move there in the end and would you recommend it for a young married British couple.

Is there any fun to have. Whats it like for a young (27) white female?

Cheers

Goonu - Housing inclusive ?? or is it separate... ??

And wht about travel allowance or company gives a car ???

Car is MUST.....

Salary wise.... better work-out your expenses vs savings desired sheet.... tht ll help you better to decide.....

Life in Doha, Qatar is fun for a young couple... If you are fun loving and are interseted in adventure sports... boating... fishing..... Snooker... Bowling..

etc etc.. I can go on and on and on..... all is available here....

For your wife..... (Should have revealed her age.. don think she gonna like tht..lol )..... She if comes up with a fren circle to keep her busy...nothing like it....

Or whtver she likes to spend time with.....

Books,Cooking, Pets, TV, Net... etc etc...

For a white couple and female.... this place is good... like any other place in this world....

It is not as scary and conservative as we think Gulf is...

This is not Dubai.....but it is a balanced mix of social restrictions and liberty....

More than enough.

Say 7.5k for a flat, then that leaves you loads and loads to play with.

You can easily live a "western" lifestyle for 4000QR a month.

Ok, looking at approx 25,000 QAR total package (7k housing allowance). Plus, additional 5500 QAR for 6 months. Doesn't look that bad.

Should survive for a single woman, right?

I need to locate hotel apartment that takes cats for a month until my stuff arrives.... any suggestions???

just kidding ... :) Sure it is good and it would be the best if they will provide an accommodation. If you are single you can get a nice studio type flat that would be good for you around 5000 - 6000 ...

It's not bad for a month. A good apartment will set you back 7000-9000 riyals.

If you are paying accommodation out of this and expect to live a semi western lifestyle the this is will not be enough.

21K plus bonus is not bad. Account for QAR 8K -9K for 2 bed apartment. In terms of entertainment nothing much to do for a bachelor. Try yr luck. Cheers

Will you be provided accommodation? I've heard it is too expensive.
