her first question is; if the offer is fair for her situation...most posters answered that question.

Her concern seems to be whether she can bring over her husband(VISA) and start fresh here with the salary offered... Somebody please clear that doubt...

Whether or not the salary offer should be considered good depends on two things:

What your duties and hours will be. If they are relatively light, then the salary is OK. If you will be on call, working long shifts, seeing many patients, etc., then the salary is good.

Your degree/three experience location and type.

You might also want to look at opportunities for promotion. Sometimes doctors come in a relatively low salaries but with real possibilities of rapid advancement.

My guess is that you should be able to negotiate for significantly more, because there is substantially flexibility within the salary structure and because they are probably offering less initially because you are female.

that's still a fair offer for a salary and remember this only doctors and nurses have high salaries in HMC as they are the only ones receiving salary increments :(

HMC does not offer high salary, and sean and xxxpat, these salaries are offered to all asians, if you are western, thats a different story, basic salary would start from 35 and above.

Secretaries with salaries like you mentioned are usully employed with QP and other Income generating companies.

and who told everybody that HMC offers HUGE salary?

I think that's fair...

ex.ex.. yes many secretaries are getting 15K plus...that’s mostly without accommodation....its not very good..but for someone with 3 yrs exp..its okay..and moreover she is not a specialist...

there are Specialist Doctors in Pvt clinics who are making less than that...

I believe you are coming in as an intern rather than a full-fledged GP. Hence this pay. Moreover PHC doesnt come under HMC. They come under a different ministry.

Whats your present payscale? Since you are in UAE, you should be in a position to analyse whether it is ok or not

Apparently only 'Elegance' here, does not think so.

I would wonder, why?

Do you have Genuine Husband Installation CD's? Does this come with an annual upgrade? And an installation manual. Installing hardware wrongly can result in irreparable consequences!!!! :P

QR 12300 is a rip off. I cannot believe HMC would offer you that! There has got to be an error!

Even the janitor wouldn't make that!

Not very bad for a start...
