Must-have mobile apps for Qatar residents this Ramadan
Ramadan is a time for piousness and reflection. Needless to say, you shouldn’t need an app to remind you of being pious and reflect on God. However, there are certain mobile apps that can improve our experience of Ramadan, so we compiled a list of the top 3 apps for this Ramadan:
Urban Point
Urban Point has excellent Ramadan offers from some of Doha’s best restaurants like Royal Tandoor, Zaffran Dining Experience, Wafi Gourmet and many more. All Ramadan offers allow users to enjoy meals for 2 people for the price of only 1.
For example, Royal Tandoor’s Pearl location has a 2-for-1 Iftar buffet offer, which means that while the regular price for their buffet is QR 75/person, Urban Point users pay QR 75 for 2 people.
The app is free to download. Urban Point has a QR 10/month subscription fee for Vodafone users, which is almost free when you compare the savings.
However, both Vodafone and Ooredoo users can download the app for free, and Vodafone users can access all the offers free for the first month, while Ooredoo users can redeem their first offer for free. Urban Point is available for iPhone and Android.
Lose It
A calorie counter may not seem like an obvious choice when talking Ramadan apps, however, with the long hours of fasting and odd meal times that occur during Ramadan, it’s easy to gain or lose weight without knowing it.
Thankfully, this app helps you track your daily caloric intake and avoid unwanted gains or loses. With a huge database of food items and nutritional information to choose from, you can closely log everything from your post-Iftar dates to your favorite dishes. Lose It is available for iPhone and Android.
Muslim Pro Ramadan 2016
Muslim Pro bills itself as “the most popular Muslim app”. The app includes many of the same functions found on other apps and then some, providing you with fasting times, accurate prayer times based on your location, and audio recitations with phonetics and translations.
Muslim Pro 2016 also comes with a digital tasbih to help you keep track of your dhikr, as well as the complete Hijri. Muslim Pro 2016 even comes with Allah’s complete list of names and many other helpful features for everyone fasting this Ramadan. Muslim pro is available for iPhone and Android.
Ramadan Legacy
Ramadan Legacy is the World’s First Fully Featured App for Ramadan that launched in June 2015. It got 150,000 downloads across 90 countries in Ramadan 2015 to help people fulfil worshipping duties, learn about Islam and connect with other Muslims around the world. It provides an inspirational yet practical tool for Muslims to fulfil their Ramadan and make key spiritual changes to their life.
Through the app millions of acts of worship were recorded such as days fasted, daily prayers and taraweeh, reading Qur’an and memorising ayats, du’as and hadith in the app. Ramadan Legacy is available on iPhone and Android.
