Pleasent Experience

Today I visited Immigration office to get family visits visa at Messaimeer.
I reached at 7.30 AM and the security man did not permit me to go in as office opens at 8 AM.
I was then standing outside in hot sun as there is no shelter nearby. Many People, mostly Indians too were waiting but they were inside their car. They were looking at me with no reaction on their face. A Qatari gentle man saw me and invited me inside his luxury car. He was taking cool drink and offered me too. I felt very obliged to this gentleman but I could not communicate with him due to language barrier.
The gate opened at 7.50 AM and we were permitted to go inside. The Q was very orderly and in Q, I was behind this gentle man but he invited me to come in front of him.
The office started functioning exactly at 8 AM. And all the staff was on their seat. I was given appointment in one window and the lady there saw and smiled at me. She checked all the papers very carefully and within 10 minutes she approved my visa application. In between her mobile flashed but she did not picked up.
Had it been in India
- People would break the line and push you back
- The office will never open in time and even if open, no one will be on their seat as they quit looking for work when they find government job.
- They will look at you as if you have come to trouble them.
- They will find many faults in your paper and do their best to reject the application so as to squeeze money.
India should learn a lesson from Qatar about honesty, courtesy and efficiency.

kadavsk can you tell me in which government department in India you faced this problem?

Don't give me general crap, tell me the departments and which cities then I will explain to you why it takes longer in India.

Whether he had a cool drink or not....who cares. Let's focus on the fact that he showed a fellow humanbeing kindness.

Glad that you had the pleasant experience. But are you sure that the man was having cool drink at that time of the day? You said he is Qatari and this is ramadan time you know.
