New Muslim
Salaam Aleikum
I'm new to Doha but I converted 4 years ago to Islam, alhamdulillah.
I've discovered that there is a lot of european women who are interested in Islam but often very shy or sometimes even scared to ask questions. One of the main reasons is there husband and even I have meet some europeans who was sure they would loose there job if they converted and started using Hijab.
Is there anyone who can advice me or maybe have an idea of how to help this "want to be Muslims" ??
Regards
Maeleka
aslamtee il hamdilah.
My advice is to give people information on the truth.
Also make it an important issue to point out that the Quran is never changing, however interpretations can vary.
Point is, I'm one of those people that take the good interpretations out of it all.

"We need to be patient with muslims and bring out the good in them, not the worst... " you are right
Eco-savy quote
one of my relative is such a pain, he thinks just sayin shahadah is enuf. never bothered to learn Quran. I really dont like inviting anyone to Islam unless they are pious ppl. InFACT i tell all the corrupt ppl to stay away from Islam.
Eco-savy...yes some muslims are corrupt but its not fair to tell them to stay away from Islam. We arent the ones who judge people, god does. many muslims practice islam and their niyaa isnt good, and many muslims arent pious and have good niyaa. I would do dua for them(ie your brother in law) and guide him in the right way if possible and let allah judge him. Maybe one day he will decide to take up the quran and practice it. I wasnt a practicing muslim until the last 7 years(although alhamdallah i wasnt corrupt just not dedicated)and now i am trying to be, what if someone had told me to stay away from Islam...

salam and welcome very happy and glad to read this topic ,welldone
may God bless you
Maleeka, as you found a way to be comfortable practicing Islam, im sure they will take that step when they are ready If they have doubts. You can only guide them, which it seems from your post that you have, but its entirely up to them, they will do it when they are ready. Places like Fanar are a good start, that you can tell them about if they are in Doha, otherwise just let them be and support them when they want it...
lol pray your maghrib eco savvy
and I agree about sugar coating.. muslims do this far too often when talking about islam.
And it is very sad because were trying to win hearts and minds here based on the truth about Islam.. not some fake belief that never existed!

Actually declaring the shahadah does not mean one is a muslim. Only in the eyes of the law.. but not in the eyes of God! Allahu Alim
As for me then I am the worst person to give advice sister. But I would benefit myself by reading good scholarly books and gaining an understanding of Islam. And guiding people who may be interested to scholars and people of knowledge as much as possible.
And of course always try to be pleasant, nice and kind. I'm just not a very pleasant person and that is why no one loves me on here!
The declaration of faith has 2 pillars.
1.) nafee- negation
2.) ithbaat- affirmation
What is meant by negate? Is to reject all divinity and worship of anything other than Allah. And what is meant by affirmation is to affirm divinity and worship only for Allah.
"That is because Allah is the true Deity to be worshiped, and whatever else they invoke besides Him is vain falsehood." (Soorah al-Hajj 22:62)
This is far greater than just saying Ilah (or God) because it does not negate divinity and worship to any other God.
So the conditions of the Shahada are:
1.) Knowledge of its meaning. What it negates and what it affirms. If a person recited it without understanding its meanings then it is like a person who speaks in a language they do not understand!
2.) Certainty (al-yaqeen) which means to have complete surety in it which leads to repelling any doubt of suspicion.
3.) Exclusively worshiping Allah sincerely (al-ikhlaas).And la Ilaaha illalaah points towards this.
4.) Truthfulness (as-sidq) which prevents hypocrisy (nifaaq). Indeed the hypocrites uttered it with their tongues but did not inwardly believe it what it signified.
5.) Love (al-mahabbah) for this kalimah and having love and pleasure for whatever it neccessitates. This is also contrary to the state of the hypocrites.
6.) Submissive compliance (al-inqiyaad) by fullfilling its rights- which are obligatory actions-- with sincerety to Allah and seeking his good pleasure (this is a requirement).
7.) Acceptance (al-qabool), which prevents rejection. This is achieved by acting upon whatever Allah has commanded and abandoning whatever he has prohibited.
Scholars have deduced these conditions from those texts of the Book and Sunnah which are pertinant to (understanding ) this great Kalimah; and which explain its rights and restrictions and that it is not merely a word that a person utters.
All info taken from the book "The declaration of Faith" by Shaikh Saalih ibn Fawzaan al-Fawzaan.

Where there is respect and justice...there is peace..
I witnessed 40 new Muslims earlier saying the shahadah in friday in this Islamic Center...it was so emotional we had to hug all of them.
They also provide Islamic and Arabic classes for free... and they have counsellors who can help anyone who has questionsa about Islam.

realsom1 help can u tell me who did that
that if someone is really attracted by Islam and want to convert himself / herself to Isalam would find their own way. If they fail to find their way to get themselves converted, it means they are not dedicated for that change. Hence please do not worry on that ...
There are lot other ways to help people.
hay every 1 i wrote there sallam and some 1 rename and wrote u cant ??ohh what the hell who did that??????????????????????????????
masha allah welcome sister, yes you can go to Qatar Islamic Center (Fanar) near the Souqs, with the twisted Manara, they have nice service.
