5 tips for quickly selling a vehicle in Qatar

1. Place a free classifieds listing on QatarLiving.com

Unlike other websites that charge you to list your car, QatarLiving.com, the BIGGEST website in Qatar, lets you do so absolutely FREE!

It's very easy to place an advert. Simply follow these steps:
- Register for a free account and verify it using your Qatari mobile number
- Click the green Post an Ad button and choose the correct section
- If you face any issues, click the HELP button on the right of your screen

2. Refresh your advert up to 3 times a day

Everyone in Qatar uses the site to buy or sell anything and everything! This high volume of traffic means its easy to sell your items, since so many people are searching the classifieds.

However, this means that your advert will move down the listings through the day as new users post their ads. By clicking on the Refresh your ad button you can push your advert back to the very top of the listing. This will guarantee more exposure for your ad.

Remember - you can refresh your advert up to 3 times a day. Also, this feature means you never need to post the same advert more than once. (By the way - duplicate ads are against the rules. Don't do it!)

3. Use at least 4 good, clear photos of the vehicle

A buyer is not going to give your ad a second look if it doesn't have good photos. We find that adverts with good photos get at least 3 times more interaction than adverts without them.

You don't need a fancy camera - just using your phone, take 4 photos from all 4 sides in the morning, when the sunlight is good - or park your car under a good light at night and do the same. Don't forget to add at least one photo of the interior!

4. Share as much details as possible about the vehicle

While only a few of the fields are mandatory, we recommend that you fill as much detail as possible.

5. Make sure your price is reasonable but be prepared to negotiate

Deciding what price to sell your car is quite difficult. Most people calculate a drop of around 10% a year for the price of a vehicle. But it will tend to be more for German and American cars, and maybe less for Korean and Japanese cars.

Have a look at the prices that similar cars are listed for and use that as a guide. Even after a car is sold, its details can be found on QatarLiving.com for this purpose. Remember that - when your car is sold, click the Mark as Sold button which will remove the email and phone number fields from the advert.

Whatever price you decide to list at, expect every single caller to phone and ask: So what is your last price?

QR30 for a day - using SMS
QR200 for 1 week - using Credit Card
QR500 for 1 month - using Credit Card

To pay via SMS, make sure you have sufficient credit if you use prepaid. When you click the button, a SMS will be sent to the mobile phone that you used to verify your account. Reply YES to that message and your advert will be promoted with an hour or so.
