You killed her, yes you al matar street today
Dont know who you are.. and really dont want to know it..but i want you to know that you killed her, she passed away... and you were not so responsible to stay there on her last moment, you just hit her and ran away...
Today by 620am al matar street, by DREAM SHOPPING CENTER, a young female cabin crew was hit by a car, left on the pavement.....
hope you can sleep tonight and tomorrow and day after tomorrow...
i am no one to judge, and i am not doing it...i am just letting you know what you did..
It's not because it doesn't affect locals. It's because it doesn't affect the locals with WASTA. Is that better?
kbaisi..ok excuse my ignorance… we don’t see any such incidents in the paper....do have any justification for Govt not building any over bridges or underpass for pedestrian crossings? while they are spending millions on Roads?
@ formatted Oh really? Immediate action for locals you say? You should tell this to my dad's friend's brother who suffered brain damage and was reduced to a wheelchair because of a speeding driver on one of the roads that lack pedestrian crossings. It's been several years since the accident and still that road is exactly the same. So please spare me your ignorant imaginary beliefs on what action would have been taken if it was a local.
they don't care about us! Pure and simple!
Maybe a hanging bridge will do, cheap and can be install in one day! Lol!
In spite of so many pedestrian die every year while crossing three track roads...why the Govt don’t do anything to build over bridges or underpass for crossing?
Obviously locals don’t need to cross the road. If a local was dead while crossing the road they would have taken immediate action.
Many companies submitted proposal for building such over bridges and underpass..which are on hold forever.. Millions of riyals are wasted by demolishing good buildings...they don’t have money to save life of expats..
The driver and the victim were both HUMAN BEINGS. We as Human beings tend to make MISTAKES. Let's not pass judgement on either. I just wish a pedestrian crossing or over bridge would be setup to avoid this in the future.
its the same other way round. some dont even know the basics of crossing a road
RIP....some bustards don hav da decency and patience 2 drive in a civilized way..
gadarene shut your mouth. did you see the driver runaway from the site? he was taken into custody at the time itself. so stop all this nonsense.
oi,to the moralistic ones,i think you're confusing this with the obituaries page...this thread is a DISUCSSION about the incident itself NOT one to leave R.I.P msg's on,everyone is doing that out of respect for the dead, the issue under discussion was the guilty driver fleeing the scene, which was later cleared up with one of the QL'ers posting that he was indeed chased & apprehended, end of story...
very sad
If you read the title correctly
well said...people who are trying to "score points" off each other on this thread should take their arguments somewhere else and have some respect... this really is so typical of some QL'rs lately!
plz plz. just pray for her and let your personal disputes outside of this thread.
when he crashed in Bahrain? ppl wont let your family rest in peace
saadm80 it's 'Haraam':)
why did u use word "unfortunate" in our dictionary there is no word called luck or unfortunate
We never say unfortunately or luckily
I Agree with yv2r, Frankly i pray that i die in a plane crash, it is rapid and you are gone in seconds.. I can't bare the pain of a car accident death....
It is unfortunate, because of some ones negligence this crew paid the price,
For death of a person 3 things not known
Time: What time a person dies,
Place: Which place a person dies,
Condition: What condition a person dies,
Lets surrender our selves to the Almighty today,we may
not get a chance tomorow
First up, RIP, and condolences to friends and family.
The term 'Accident' shouldn't be applied to car crashes. Accident implies that nothing could be done. Driver awareness and speed are the most critical factor, also in this case road layout.
If the guy stayed around, then props to him for taking responsibility.
Oh...I got it now. Someone posted earlier that he never ran away and is in the Police Custody now.
Khattak, yes but i am just trying to give a perspective of the culture from where the Bangladeshi guy would have come and which he cannot unlearn just because he is in Qatar. However, I am not in any terms condoning his act. What is did was wrong and a life was lost.
shapil...I agree with you but back in our countries...not here in Qatar. The culture here is different...nobody is going to abuse or beat you if you get involved in an accident.
I had an accident once. I was driving my Dad's car and hit a man. He was walking on the side of the road and talking on a mobile phone. I was coming from behind. I saw him walking and talking on the phone. Just to make him aware i pressed the horn. 2 seconds after hearing the horn he darted across the road without looking back. I pressed the brakes and he heard the screeching sound. He was startled but He still did not look back. However, he adjusted his motion while running and twisted his foot and fell down on the bonnet of my car which had come to a complete standstill. I came out of the car and saw that the man's leg is broken just above the ankle. He was a heavy man and it must have broken under his weight when he twisted his ankle and before he fell down on my car. Soon a crowd gathered and apparantly he was from the neighbourhood as many people knew him. They started to hurl abuses at me and some even tried to throw punches at me. Even neutral people were on his side as his leg was broken and I just had a minor dent on my bonnet. It did not appeal to their fair side. I told them that I would take him to the hospital and pay for the expenses. After making me hear some more abuses, some young guys and me put him in my car and 3 other men also sat inside. We were about to go to the hospital when the man realized that the fall had broken his mobile phone and he wanted somebody to rush to his home and bring his other phone. Finally, the phone came and we went to the hospital. At the hospital, the police came and he again started shouting at me and saying that it was all my fault. I requested him not to register a case with the police as it was an accident and I have already done whatever I could have. But he registered the case and it is still ongoing. So...my rules are if you hit a person and there are many people around then just go straight to the police station and tell them to send an ambulance there and if there are not many people around then get out of the car, put the person in the car and then leave the place for the hospital as soon as you can, before you are subjected to the crowd justice.
There should be pedestrian crossings on major roads, it's not hard to understand but nobody listens.
I feel sorry for her.the driver I am telling u
U Can't escape from God
at 9:00pm tonight, me and my daughter happened to pass by the area and saw a bunch of white flowers in the (middle) island of the road. Im confident that that was the exact place where the accident occured... I felt a bit chill and say a little prayer for her loss and prayed that the driver be caught.
I've been thinking of the accident since I first heard it yesterday from Lobo. And I remember what one of my
Qatari co-worker mentioned to me that if there was any accident which involves death, the police authority will do all it can to catch the culprit. Plus we all know that road camera's are commonly installed in that area, this might help the authority to identify the driver.
That is why i get too optimistic that the culprit will be caught. Thanks to "storms" and "kennethpotato" for their time to update us.
Yeah i agree with "stealth", not to blame only the driver for the accident, the crew must also been careless at that time which contributed to the whole process of the accident.... BUT "storms" is DEAD right, that what ever maybe the driver's side of the story, HIT-AND-RUN is Murder, he is a criminal and he should be punished.
"DON'T DO THE CRIME IF YOU CANNOT DO THE TIME"
without any evidence they keep on blaming. Deceased was driving her car and she is responsible for her action
MR. JACKMOHAN2007 i beg to disagree on your nasty comment. First, and foremost, QR drivers are not lazy. Our drivers do their jobs properly as they are instructed. Second and importantly, they drop the CREW inside the TECHNICAL Bldg across HARDEES, and not AT THE AIRPORT as you say.
The crew might be parking her own car somwhere along al matar, that's why she was to cross the road when she got hit. CRew can come and go to and from their duty at their on means, BUT Qatar Airways, provides transportation. So please dont comment on matters you dont fully understand, so you will not sound like a baffling fool.

.......thats really sad :o(.....may her soul rest in peace.........
Yes,we shld hear the story from his side as well..The incident was happened all of a sudden and no one had realised the worst effect of it..
We can just pay our heartiest condolence to the deceased and let law to take its own action.
But why cant the lazy bus driver cannot park at the airport? ....it takes 2 minutes for the staff to get down from the mini bus.
QA Driver should be dropping the staff inside the airport. How come he is dropping them off on roadsides? To make his work easy?
Again another irresponsible mini-bus driver.
Its very easy to get runover on those six lanes as the side view can easily get blocked by vehicles running parallel to your vehicle.
The fist vehicle may be able to stop but the one
running in the second or third lane may not be so lucky.
Well said... We don't know the whole story...
Just pray for her and her relatives..
It is a fact the Malaysian cabin crew died yesterday morning in an accident. She was hit by a driven by a Bangladeshi. Who said he ran away? He was taken into custody at that time itself.
Was she a little careless when she crossed the road?
Didnt she see the incoming vehicle? If so what prompted her to cross the road?
Looks like the driver lost his attention also at the time. What was he thinking at the time? Only he can answer. Was it a deliberate accident?
Stop blaming only the driver for the accident.
Very Sad news. God rest her soul in peace and give her family strength during difficult time.
so sad to read & hear this kind of story....may she rest in peace.
I don't know when the Traffic dept and Asghal (Public Works Dept) will wake up and do the necessary job....
There is a urgent need of pedistrian crossing on the Airport road... Starting from the Central Bank Signal (Croniche) until Airforce roundabout (also known as wakara roundabout) there is no proper pedistrian crossing in between the roads except on the signals.
Airport road is considered as most dangerous or killer road in Qatar.
Ashgal should take immediate action and build proper pedistrian bridiges and crossings else they will be keep counting the deads !!!
I think most of the deads are QatarAirways staff (I may be wrong but this is the 3rd case of QatarAirways employee I have heard in 2 yrs)
In this case, I have to salute Dubai it's initative in buiding several pedistrain crossing and many are airconditioned ....
usualy this kineds of pepol is having psycological sick put if he or she have proplem in his life why he is driving i pelive now he is in gail
She is a 25 year old malaysian....she passed away in HMC Trauma ICU this morning. Hope the driver is punished a 100X
To some over-grown kids who posted their comments above, can you take your personal disputes somewhere else. May the departed soul be blessed.
IF HE OR SHE THINKS THEY CAN ESCAPE FROM PROPLE BUT REMEMBER U CANT ESCAPE FROM GOD
ALLAHA IS GREAT , HE OR SHE ESCAPE FROM PEOPLE BUT NOT FROM ALLAHA
Sad news & feel sorry for her
@ kbaisi,it's not easy to make someone laugh, let alone for 10 mins. straight...glad to be of assistance *wink*!!!...
@ gadarene I am not used to freedom of expression? Where did I tell you or any one for that matter to restrict themselves from freely speaking on here? By all means say what you want dude, your posts are highly amusing. I laughed for 10 minutes straight today at some post you made towards some insecure poster who perceived the NY times reporting of Qatar obesity rates as an attack on Qataris. I too am entitled to express my views on your opinions. And I agree, let's us stay on topic here out of respect for the victim, the perpetrator has already been caught people, all we can hope for now is that he is punished properly.
R.I.P and may her family have rthe strength to bear her loss....
Hope the moron responsible is caught and punished..
@ kbaisi, like i said mate, our opinions are based on personal experiences,i have mine, you have yours...they obviously differ...let's leave it @ that...this is a PUBLIC forum mate,so that means freedom of expression, something you're obviously not used to,that ain't my fault mate...the guilty driver has been arrested so like i said,no point arguing this further,it's the weekend,go have some fun eh?!...
@ ecosavvy & versimilitude, everyone speaks from personal experience...a couple of days ago,my colleague's son had an argument with some neighbour over parking & the neighbour returned to my colleague's building with some friends & knocked on one ground floor apartment & asked the filipino engineer living there which number my colleague's apartment was, this poor guy obviously had no idea what was going on & showed them the apartment, this neighbour & his friends then physically assaulted my colleague's son. My colleague left work, went home & went & lodged a complaint, the police picked up the guys in question yesterday & they are in capital,however,@ midday yesterday,my colleague received a phone call from this poor Filipino engineer,he'd been picked up by the cops as well & was being held @ Capital,my colleague had to leave work again & go personally vouch for him without which they were going to press charges...for innocently pointing out my colleague's apartment!!! so like i said mate,we all speak from experience, you have yours & i have mine, fair enough? & anyways the guilty driver in this case has been arrested so let's leave it be guys,no need to get overexcited for no reason eh?...it's the weekend guys, have a drink or something eh? *wink*!!!
I agree, Gadarene does come across as a bollywood character, not only with the CIA like insider information that he possesses in respect to how the law operates, but also on his theories on what will happen to potential witnesses.
MarieSLB Thanks for the updates...
I want to convey my condolence to the bereaved husband.
more drama... drama mama...
its selfish not to report if you have witnessed murder.
I hope people will stop talking on mobile phones while driving as I have seen so frequently and do little things to make roads safer...death always seems sacrier when it is closer to home.
gadarene is seeing to much bollywood masala... dramatize everything... such a drama queen... grow up...
@ Ecosavvy, maybe because in their home country there would be a pedestrian bridge they could use?...or that the technical building would have sufficient parking on the same side of the street?...so what do you recommend mate? That she should have parked her car then walked the half km. to the airport traffic lights to cross the street, then back up the street half a km. to the technical building in her crew uniform in this heat?...sounds like a good idea mate, you should recommend it to QR...get real mate, step 1 to following rules is the local Government having basic civic ameneties in place...how much time & money would it cost these guys to put a multi storey car park for crew or @ the very least a pedestrian over bridge?...it's a shame really...
that hassel takes place only in HINDI MOVIES in real life no one troubles the witness. I have reported and helped road victims NO ONE DARED TO QUESTION ME EVEN IN INDIA
YOU ARE JUST SPREADING LIES
It seems that crossing roads are very dangerous here...I work at RasGas and the CC mall is just across the road but still the company runs continuous buses just to take employees across the road during lunch and bring them back...maybe QR should have also done something similar.
Thank God the culprit driver has been caught. What ever maybe his side of the story. HIT & RUN is Murder ! And irrespective of his situation / position (rich or poor) he is a criminal and he should be punished.
What has gone wrong !! So many accidents everyday ! Driving is BAD to WORSE !!
May Almighty Allah give Justice to the loss of her life..!!
Drive Safe - Be Safe & SLOW DOWN !
someone ought to tell those clowns @ skytraxx the manner in which QR puts their "5-star" cabin crew's lives @ risk on a daily basis, maybe give them another special award for it...someone definitely saw it but no one's going to come forward because the cops here will hassle the witness like they're the culprit, hope someone does come forward though,it is impossible that no one saw this happen @ half 6 in the morning on a weekday...may the departed soul rest in peace...
I am not blaming QR, I think I am just frustrated. One more loss of life ! Need I say more. Like QR imposes strict rules on everything on their staff maybe they can be even more strict on NOT to cross the road for work. Terminate staff who cross the road.. for a start. I know QR provides buses for staff, they have ample parking behind FFC. I know some people never learn.
Anyway what ever i say.. One Life has been lost !
Yes, I heard about it in the morning; I am a cabin crew myself and feel the pain. May rest her soul in peace; and hope the family have strength to bear this painful loss. I heard she is Malaysian and just got married and lives with the husband in Doha. May give her husband the strength to bear the loss of her wife. The driver (from Bangladesh) has hit her and run away but some one has chased him and caught him and now arrested. I am terribly sorry for this girl's death and she is not my friend but she has worked with me before. :(.........
If anyone has the conscience and know anything about that heartless B#####D should report to the police right away. I heard about this incident, I cant imagine what a painful death it could be. If it happened around 6.30AM I am sure the road was not deserted, people travel to Ummsaid during that time and I am sure someone might have seen this happen.
If that person (If you happen to read this) has seen this accident happen, has any information what so ever of that animal who ran away like a coward, please for the sake of the one lost soul report this matter.
Accidents happen, and I am sure this did not happen on purpose.. but running away like a coward wont ever give you nor that lost soul any peace. Maybe she could have been saved if help was called on time.
My heartfelt condolence to the family of that poor lady. May Almighty Allah bless her soul and give her family the strength to bear this irreparable loss.
The diver should be punished for Murder !! And rot in prison for the rest of his life.
Qatar Airways - This is not the first case, nor the first time you put in line the lives of your staff in Danger. 6 Lanes of death that people cross each day.. DO something about it before more people lose thier life.
My plea goes to Ashghal, Qatar Airways, Traffic Police to make Qatar Pedestrian friendly..
and do exactly opposite when they come to Qatar
tell their staff to report to work by disobeying road rules?
What happened is sad and I pray for her but I would like to hear the driver's story as well.
Roads are not safe for pedestrians. R.I.P.
this the road on which i see many people crossing from one side to the other..
if QA cannot give adequate park slots to its employees on its side, the next best thing is to make a few pedestrian bridges across the al matar street at some intervals. it will be useful for all...not only QA staff.
rest in peace dearest...you;ll be in our hearts forever !!!
May her soul Rest In Peace, sincere condolences to her family.
It's very upsetting to hear that she passed away but more so that some did'nt stay with her and and try to help her after this.
This is not the first time a hit and run has happened on the road and yes QA needs to sort there parking out.
I'm sending my love to her family who could'nt even be there to say goodbye.
saadm80, I don't get it, how you bring together the accident with the housing?
very very sad news.
Cabin crews conditions are already not so good and they have many restrictions on them, this incident will cause more restrictions on them.
Every time I see an accident here in Doha, I say a little prayer for the people involved. I am very upset and so sorry to hear that someone was killed and furthermore it was a hit and run.
I hope the life of this person that was taken can be a wake up call and induce some changes in the way people drive here.
Being a driver and/or being a pedestrian is a dangerous role that we play every day here in Doha.
So sorry and may she Allah bless her soul.
Really sad to hear this... May she rest in peace. Qatar airways should learn a lesson now provide them good housing.
A very tragic incident, may God rest her soul in peace!
I hope her family will be taken care by God, that God will be the only condolences provider to them, hope paradise will be her place.
at what time today, i heard about an accident of my officemate this afternoon, driving PWA Fortuner...
very sad news. RIP
This kind of people are so coward that they don,t even have courage to help others. This people ride on beautiful cars and never think about others life.
May God her soul in peace.
A 5-star accident.
yes one of my friend told me .. she is from malaysia .. and i think the driver was from bangladesh .. anyway RIP :(
Disgusting, I hope they catch the culprit, the laws here are too lax on hit and runs, these kind of animals deserve at least 10 years in prison at the minimum. RIP
Rest in peace.
Rest in peace beautiful angel i guess heaven needed you the most. my condolences to her family and friends and hope they catch the lunatic behind the wheel.
Feel sad with this news...
I myself was a victim of hit-and-run...
I hope somebody will come out to identify the culprit's plate number, and may he/she rot in jail...
no respect to life...
my condolences to the family of the victim...
wake up Qatar Airways...
That's terrible. No respect for human life. Hope they get caught and spend a lot of time in jail
First of all my sincere condolences to the family and friends of the poor cabin crew.
On the same note I would like to take my frustration out in the in humane act of this coward who could not stop and help.
and finally I blame Qatar Airways partly for this as they do not provide safe parking for their staff that they have to park on a busy road and cross 6 lanes of traffic..
*removing my hat
Karma will get the better of that person who took her life.....and 10x over
OMG...may she rest in peace...
That very very sad news....hope that coward is identified and punished. Rest in peace.
Rest in Peace. I hope somebody saw it and comes forward with a licenseplate number. How sad news :((( may God be with her family and help them through the pain.
