X-Ray Result
Hi All,
Please, I need your advice regarding the x-ray in qatar.
I had a history of TB wayback 2004 and i undergo in treatment for 6 months (year 2006). Medication is a success so decided to fly in Qatar at year 2007. I found a job and undergo to medical and i passed the x-ray. Now, after more than 4 years i "might" go to another medical exam here in Qatar as we are having an Agency issue.
Question is,I would like to go to private medical clinic like Al-Shefa or Qatar Medial Center to get rid of my worries.. If ever they find something in my x-ray like "the TB gets active" or there is a scar on it. are they going to submit the report to Medical Commission in any gov't. office for deportation?
Please, advise.. Please, also refer to me some doctors or specialist (filipino if any) so the report will not be forwarded to MedCom if ever..
All comments is much appreciated...
I hv replied to your PM
thank you everyone for your comments... Lucky i'll send you a PM. i'll take my chance to that so i can rid of my worries and also to have a medication if its active again... thank you again, i will update here what will happened next to clear our doubts.
@Lucky...no issues...i believe you...do they also not report cases of HIV, meningitis, etc? can you maybe at least tell us which of this does not get reported to SMC? (no pun intended)
Please talk to the Director of Infecteous Deseases of HMC to get the correct information. (He is in Rumailla Hospitol Every Tuesday morning. meet him and get all the facts 1st hand) I can not give you his name in this public forum but I am glad to give you his name if you request me through a PM.
There are lot of articles written by him on Gulf Times on the subject and check the Gulf TImes Archive as well for further information.
Lastly don't give false informations to others.
you should avoid going to doctors that will not report to the medical department..you are making the matters worst..
you cannot blame anybody if you tested positive again for TB as you mentioned you went back to smoking after passing the medical tests.
if tested positive you will be given treatment medicines for a period of 6 months and do another test..
@Lucky Luciano...please note that there is a mandate from Supreme Medical Council for all hospitals to report any, and all, contagious diseases. Even the case of E.coli gets reported to them (blood in stool, etc).
Those getting deported are those that doesn't manifest any sign of TB, yet failed the skin test. If there is manifestations already, they won't let you board the plane and transmit the disease to innocent victims.
Also, the scar is a minor thing, as there are hundreds of reason for having a scar in the lung, including trauma-related ones. It is the blood test that would confirm your condition, and use it to rule out what was seen in the X-ray. If you continue the habit of smoking, then don't raise your hopes too high, as chances of you passing the test will be minimal. You recovered from TB and continue smoking, you already know what will happen to your lung. Worst is if you develop another strain of PTB.
Good luck.
Please go to Rumailla Hospitol and get a full scan free of charge. if you are infected they will treat you FOC until you are cured. This doesn't affect on your Visa or residency status. Private clinics are not the awswer for your problem.
Also note that nothing will be reported to Medical Commision. If you need further information, send me a PM. I will give you the contact no. of the Head Nurse of the unit.
There is nothing to worry about.
Thanks radcua, yes i got lucky it surely heals completely and i "guess" it didnt leave any scar. Please, correct me if im wrong but not all of them is being treated. some of cases just get deportated asap...
thanks coelacanth, very nice advice. And no, i don't feel any night fever, sweating, coughing with blood, etc., what i actually worrying about is that, what if Radcua is right, I just got lucky for the first time and they found no scars.. also, i smoked again after i passed the medical test in year 2007 until now.. :(
But im trying to stop now as im facing this another nightmare..
It's just that i want to go to private clinic here that will not submit the result good or bad to HMC.. you answered it already that either way they will report it.. :(
I agree with coelacanth.
All contagious diseases gets reported to HMC and Medical Commission, including the QID and phone number of the patient. If it is active, HMC will give you treatment and won't even let you board the plane since the transmission of such is airborne. Also, TB test is done via skin test, and X-ray will only show the condition of the lung.
Bottom line, either you go to private or wait for the medical test, it gets reported either way. If you don't feel any night fever, sweating, coughing with blood, etc., then you have nothing to worry, IMHO.
You are very lucky that you are able to pass the medical exam the first time. For your question, PTB if diagnosed and contracted here will be managed and treated here. Do not worry as you will only be required to be treated and closely monitored for medicine compliance. It will not in any way affect your visa and work status.
