Worms in food in restaurant
By ForrestGump •
I came back home from work, picked up some take away in Al Sadd on the way. Well into the sofa and half way into my dinner, I spotted a worm. After finish vomiting, I went through the food and found another one. I took some photos of them. Disguisting.
And I used to eat there alot as I live close by. No need to say I wont show my face there anymore.
Check your food before you start eating in cheap restaurants!
*clap clap* Very very well said!
Usually these kind of restros keep semi cooked food in fridge and the moment u order something they take it out full cook it and give it to u.Right?maybe whatever u ordered was stored for long in the fridge shelf or may be in huge quantity and when u ordered the lower layer was containing some worms and u got them.Understand? Now if u r true and if u are willing to help other families and kids too than go and make a complaint.Otherwise u will urself quote in ur own country that in Qatar they dont care about hygeine standards.Police cant keep track of every eatery but complainers like you will make a big difference and you can show a way to others too.By a single complaint of your atleast 1000 other eateries will get scared they will start maintaining hygiene for the sake of customers.Even if u are not willing to complaint than why did u made a complaint here.Is this is a Ministry of Health's website to help u out or to warn others.Or u are here to find some limelite and sympathy.Go and help others and help Government to take strict action against these kind of cheap hazardous eateries..
:( sad news. i love the food there. but why discriminate against cheap food? some of the best food i've eaten are in hole-in-the-wall & road/riverside restaurants at the cheapest prices.the first thai food i've eaten was in college in a very popular cheap joint just outside campus whose neighbours were eateries for laborers. sometimes you can see mama thai's dirty fingernails digging into the mixed rice toppings you ordered. but the food was great and since i'm still alive i guess it's ok.if i was being mean today i would think you're the f&b manager of a neigbouring restaurant who wants to put them out of business. but don't worry, i'm not doubting you. i'll take your word for itbut some thai people do eat some weird stuff. like bugs. maybe worms too
They are not worms. They are called vitamines!
of Al MAnhal" water (I think) that one Qler said he/she found something inside the bottle(?) and no proof was given! Same old story!
to get into limelight.
I bet the worms r integral part of the cuisine :) pls. cross check with the rest.
Are you sure you didn't order for worm pad thai, or worm som tam? :-(
hey man its a very serious problem... so get out from your shell and take the necessary actions...
As you are a F&B Manager you should have known what action to take on a matter such as this.
you should take it up with the health or consumer protection depart 'n u won't have to shwo ur face there anymore cuz the govie 'd shut them down
could have been worse....you mjght have only found half a worm!
i feel same as what you feel ... call this Hotline: 44348888
Thanks man... sitting outside where there is no proper light even, I dont know how many kinds and numbers of worms I would have eaten... not going there again.
Call Albaladeya Hotline .. its their scope to take the legal action against such places

Show us the pictures.
what about the picture? Unless you show it, you are liable for........!
FG, Thanx for sharing the name and thereby letting Qlers who use to frequent to this place, decide.
Worms in vegetables? Good to know they didnt use pesticides on them.
I know of a few QL members who go there regularly for take-aways. I can only say now that I thank God I never found it due to poor directions!
Dear, may be that worms are one of the essential ingredient of that dish????? becoz it was a Thai Restaurant ...ryt?
Sry for late posting.
I was not planning to tell the name of the restaurant but after reading your replys I think it's better afterall.
It's a thai restaurant between Doha clinic and c ring road. I never knew the name of the place. I noticed many european people go there, so I figured this is good when I moved here. But the cleanliness of the place could be a bit better I agree.
I won't do anything more with this. I didn't get sick but then again maybe some later small kids will be? The worms was like 1-1,5 cm long and it was in the fried vegetables.
I think he is dead coz of food poisoning.
What a nice guy!!!! He wanted ql mem to know the secret b4 dying.

Once in Qatar, I did extradited some worms in the toilet, Of course, it was the Agave Worm at the end of the bottle of tequila..
You saved yourself by vomiting and deciding never to show your face there. Thankfully you didn't get food poisoned, but what about others who might not be lucky enough to spot those worms as you did. I think you should show your concerns to other expats by calling 44266666 (Baldiya) immediately or at least letting others know the name and location of the restaurant. Also, upload the picture that you snapped of the worms, if you could for others to identify with the kind of worms they should watch out for in foods from restaurants in Doha.
Name the restaurant and post the pictures here...
Wriggly curry! The birds love it.
Pls mention the resto and also report it to baladiya
You should report them to the health department.. Someone else may fall ill ..
Is there any guarantee that expensive restourants will take care of these things. It totally depends on their concerned staff and management. Chief restourants can also take care of hygiene, it has nothing to do with the price.
ForrestGump.. this is one of my favo movies.. ever! thanks for reminding, will watch it once again..:)as for your food, please (1)name the place; (2) I hope you have spoken to the manager of this bloody place; (3) try not to eat in cheap places.
you should definitely mention the restaurant name and location... authorities were so adamant in the press that they are fighting bad hygiene in restaurants, not sure how they missed this one.
If you order the chefs surprise what do you expect?
The "Restaurant: name and shame!
At least some clues please. Sounds very nightmarish to me!
