Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser al-Missned, the Emir of Qatar’s consort, has won the Chatham House Prize for bettering international relations. She was chosen for her education role in Qatar and advocating closer links between the Muslim world and the West.

Chatham House Prize 2007
Chatham House is delighted to announce that the 2007 Chatham House Prize will be awarded to HH Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned, Chairperson of the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development.
HH Sheikha Mozah has been awarded the Prize by Chatham House members because of her commitment to progressive education and community welfare in Qatar and because of her strong advocacy at home and internationally in favour of closer relations between Islam and the West. She is also recognised for her work as a UNESCO Special Envoy for Basic and Higher Education where she actively promotes projects that improve the quality and accessibility of education worldwide.
HH Sheikha Mozah will collect the award, presented by HRH The Duke of York, at a ceremony at the Drapers' Hall in the City of London on Monday 15 October. Senator George Mitchell, former US Special Envoy to Northern Ireland and Chairman, Sharm el-Sheikh International Fact-Finding Committee to examine crisis in Middle East; and The Rt Hon Kim Howells MP, Minister responsible for the Middle East, will deliver keynote speeches.
About the Chatham House Prize
The Chatham House Prize is awarded each year to a leading international statesperson who has made the most significant contribution to the improvement of international relations in the previous year.
The selection process for the prize draws on the expertise of Chatham House's research teams and its three presidents - Lord Hurd, Lord Robertson and Lord Ashdown - with Chatham House members voting for the winner.

We've watched what she has done for Qatar for the past 6 years, and its nothing short of incredible!!! And...she's still a very nice and approachable woman, even with her station in life!
