Hey, anybody here could tell me of an affordable gym in Doha area? I'll be staying in Doha from August to november. I'm a bodybuilder from Manila, Philippines. Thanks guys!

Not to put a downer on previously mentioned gym's however one of them was reported recently due to a severe amount of used needles (steroids) left laying around outside their premises (i believe they still have the sign in the reception area).

Dont walk in the wasteland area's around the mentioned gym's in open toed shoes!!!!

whats your take on diet..healthy diet plan.anyone of you follow any such diet.

one member lianna banana has joined a diet centre who provide a fully balanced diet at the doorstep for 2300qrs a month.its a bit steep, but not for anyone desperate to lose weight.

anyone of you have any healthy diet recipees, breakfast, lunch dinner.

lots of veggies, with chicken, i just dont know how to spice up the food.indian food is very different, too many spices, cant use that for strict healthy steamed or baked food, get what i mean.looking for balance diet, low in everything yet giving the nutrition to the body.

have been browsing the net, but nothing thats suiting me, so ladies, any help.

at gold gym, are they specific about ladies time and mens time, bcos i am not free when they have their ladies time.

650 ramada is ok, not too steep, if u want to consider taking short membership, utilise it everyday, obtain your weight goal and then try alternative methods to maintain that weight.at ramada, u get to use the pool, jacuzzi and sauna for that membership, right??

golds gym is a known place, but have never been there, it may be worth trying out that place.does the gold gym have sauna, nothing like having a sauna after a good workout+loads and loads of water before you faint of dehydration.

Have you try Gold's Gym ?? My hubbyy works out there and it seems ok when I went and had a look. Fee is QR600 for 3 months plus they have an aerobic studio. I am definatly looking to find a workout buddy/ies and would love to get involved in whatever you all decide to do.

I found the Ramada perfect. It has complete equipment and the vetilation won't be a problem. But it's expensive though, it's QAR650/mo. What do you think girls? But if you preffer in Corniche just let me know. Would love to join you. So long!

as of right now i enjoy the corniche, the time just flies and u dont get bored.

but if you do find a gym, and its affordable for me, i would love to join.we can have a mini workout team.

i am at a point that i need to get out of my home to workout, bcos my kids dont let me do it in peace at home, and i cant do it properly i get cranky.bcos this is serious stuff for me, health wise.

give a try walking at the corniche, you wont feel the need for a companion, my opinion, an ipod wil help though.thinking of taking mine along.

what time are you free?i have kept my time as 5pm or 645pm.

A friend of mine suggested to try walking in Corniche but I don't have any companion bcoz all my friends were too busy for this. I just hope Cassie can find a nice gym. for her and for me. and do you want to join us or you preffer walking in Corniche?

i was a member of ramada, and i had found it good.they dont have a seperate gym room for women, the gym is common, but yes they do have an expat instructor.

cassie did u find the saloon cheap or ramada.

i got confused by your posting.

i have myself ruled out the saloon bcos if u need fresh air u need to come and stand out on the road pavement, not at all happening for me.moreover i did not see a tv there, so its the same situation as home for me, bcos where i have placed my treadmill, i stare at the wall from there and it can get boring after half an hour, esp if u need to run everyday for an hour on it.

oasis also as a gym, infact they have a daily coupon system, i think it used to be 20 qrs uptil a few months ago, u can use the gym and try it out before taking a membership.i hope its not changed.

btw, i walked in corniche last evening for more than an hour and it felt really good.there are lots of people walking at the corniche, i was surprised to see the number.

give corniche a try too until u find a good gym. like i said its the cheapest, except fuel to get there.

i think from the point where they are supposedly opeining a museum, i hope i am getting it right, until sheraton it is 5km and worth it.

do let me know what u find.

any luck yet.

okay i went and checked out this saloon, this will be the. closest place for you from mansoura and for me from hilal.

my observation: gym is oka, lot of equipment, 2 treadmills, 4 cycles, i think 4 steppers and many body toning equipment.

they have an aerobic room, 10-11,4-5,7-8, if i remember correctly.they have a trainer for aerobics and for gym each.the gym instructor seemed desperate to get me to join today for the 6 month course, 500qrs, for a single month it is 150qrs. this is pretty cheap considering the hotels. all seemed nice, except, the minute it gets crowded which it will, i dont think there will be good air circulation, it can get sweaty and smelly, get the picture, because althoug the room in long in length, it didnt give me the impression of space and excellant ventilation.

i dont think we have this problem in ramada, although i have to chek their prices, i think their single membership is 800 for a month.i need to confirm.

i still vote for ramada, but i would like you to check this place out yourself and tell me what you feel about it, compare both places.

real affordable, lets walk in the corniche for 1-2hrs, i am seriously contemplating doing that.

since i have little ones at home, leaving home territory for long time is a bit difficult, i was thinking of hitting out to the corniche thur-sat, and walking for as much as i can. the other days i usually workout at home.

i dont know your definition of affordable, but i have read in the paper of a new saloon called Al houri that has opened, and it is located near the gulf cinema somewherre behind qatar navigation, they have a gym and conduct aerobic classes thrice a day.its 100 for a month, and 500 for 6 months.its closest to your location.

i have absolutely no idea if it would suit you, bcos i have myself not checked that place out. i enquired about the gym and equipment, and the lady who owns the place said, there are lots of equipments,..............dont know what that means untill i check it out.

they are also having some promotions on treatments, try checking gulftimes classified, dated 4nov.

have u tried ramada, i had taken amember ship there for some time, and its nice.if you know what you need to use and how to work the equipments, then ramada should be cool, moreover the trainer over there explains whats to be done and how.

let me know if you find someplace.

If you live in Al Mansoura, your best bet will be either Marriott or Gold's Gym on D-Ring
