Woman teacher charged with sexual offences

An Indian-origin teacher in Britain has admitted that she had sex with two pupils at her home, a court was told. Thirty-seven-year-old Hina Patel, who worked as a teacher, met the boys at her home, the Daily Express reported yesterday. Patel has pleaded guilty to two charges of abusing her position of trust. She will be sentenced on November 22 at Liverpool Crown Court. “I am appalled she used her position in such a way. We are relieved we found out at such an early stage. But it just shows how you have to be very vigilant and your processes have to be robust,” Gary Loveridge, head teacher of the school Birkdale High, Merseyside, was quoted as saying.

teachers r to b respected , but in todays worst world ... everything goes upside down.... bcoz of one or two culprits, the whole community gets bad remarks...

These events make parents paranoid about who to trust where their kids are concerned.
no, it is not born movies , anyhow it is not the point , the point is when i have the media and i can warn people against something i should have a priorept list , i should start and focus on the most danger and awful , i think a teacher with a student relationship will not be ranked no . 1 if we are ranking the sexual relationship according to a human being criteria

really i wonder , there are millions of sexual relations all over the world , the newspaper selects only this as a strange case . i think it is not enough to put it in the focus that she is a teacher and he is a student.
it would make more sense for me if the newspaper spoke about sexual relations with nonhumanbeing , the web is full of these relations and it desire most the unacceptance from the community , or the family sex it also should be reported as a danger and more offencive , i think many other sexual relations opposing the nature of the humanbeing than a teacher with a student

No matter what age it is still a breach of trust in my opinion. I'm merely stating the law...(feel free to correct me if I'm wrong)

I would have thought that teacher / student physical relationship at any age would be a "breach of trust" ..
the period mentioned was one and a half month, that's a long period of "coercion" if it is.
Or it is simply she's 37 and the two are teens? And she's a teacher and the boys are students. Good, I stop teaching after four years, it's really a difficult job! Lol!
If the student is 16, is it a breach of trust to the parents?
Isn't he at the age of consent, should the parents have a say in his personal life? What if he WANTS that?

He doesn't need state the obvious, does he? Otherwise, he should made such statements regarding criminals!

most of the commentators dont like the action , but nobody told where is the mistake?? is it because the boys were students?? it means if they were not students there would be no problem?? is it because young?? does it mean if the boys were a bit older no problem?? is the mistake that the relation between teacher and student must not be like that ?? it means if they were not teacher and her student no problem??or is it the action itself it means all the commentators refuse the illegal sexual relations whomever were the partners??

I think when Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) spoke of “if someone is openly homosexual, they shouldn't be teaching in the classroom and he holds the same position on an unmarried woman who's sleeping with her boyfriend -- she shouldn't be in the classroom”..... he would have made that statement apprehending such situations.

Seriously, she's just managed to ruin her life, like Timebandit has already stated she will never work as a Teacher again as she's going to be struck off and she'll be on the sex offender register list. Was it really worth it??
It happens everywhere, but is probably more prevalent with male teachers...

How many are unreported? This is actually less if you compare it with those priests already reported to have abused their authority.

Perhaps , we need to rethink having female teachers in an all boys school ..
I went to an all boys school and with an all male staff .. Didn't do me any harm. Used to hate the casual slaps on the bum though :O)

The boys were obviously adolescent and immature with the o'l "school boy"crushes on a teacher but for a woman of her position and age to take advantage of that is gross! I do find mentioning her origin highly unwanted,though.hmmm..
shahana454 it is punishable. She will go to prison, be struck off as a teacher and will be placed on the UK sex offender register. She will pay for her actions for the rest of her life. Silly, silly woman.
her origins should not be the issue here.. what she did was wrong and she should be punished for it!

Firstly, her "origin" should have no bearing on the story..
She abused her position of trust and should be severely punished. The sad fact is that cases like this tend to heap even more pressure on teachers who are doing a good job..
