THE WISDOM OF LIFE
"Enjoy the Coffee, Not the mug"
A group of alumnus of one university that already well established in there respective career gathers and visits the old professor of their campus. Conversation immediately happens and heads in complain about stress in the work and their life. Offer his guests coffee, the professor goes to the kitchen and comes back with the big teapot contain coffee and mugs various kinds - from porcelain, plastic, glasses, crystal, normal glasses, some of the expensive glass and some others very beautiful - and he ask his former student to pour personally their coffee. After all of his students get some coffee on the hands, the professor says: "If you pay attention to the mugs, all the mugs that is beautiful and expensive are taken, the only left are normal glasses mugs and they are is just cheap." Despite is normal thing to want only the best for yourself, but in fact that’s become the source of the problem of your stress. "Make sure that the mug do not influence the quality of the coffee." In many cases, mug is only more expensive and in several cases in fact hides what we drink. What you want in fact is only some coffee, not the mug, but you consciously take the best mug and afterwards begin pay attention to other person mugs. "Now pay attention to this: Life is like coffee, whereas the work, money and the position in the community are the mug." The mug is just like the implement to hold and fill up the life. The kinds of mug that we have do not define or also replace the quality of our life. Often, because concentrating only on the mug, we fail to enjoy coffee that GOD provides for us. GOD creates the whole universe or just simple the coffee but not the mug. So enjoy the coffee, not the mug. So realize that your life is more important compared to your work. If your work restricts yourself and controls your life, you become the person who finds it easy to be attacked and fragile resulting from the change in the situation. The work comes and goes, but that necessarily do not ever change you. |
