blue - I used 10.5. I'm now on 10.5.5.

I have a MSI Wind clone named the Advent 4211. Cheap.

MSIWindosx86 is what you need to look for.

I'm running macosx on my netbook. It's a cheap, easy-to-use option for many netbooks, although it's a bit trickier than ubuntu or XP to get installed.

I'd recommend Windows for newbies.

in Ubuntu, you can do cool stuff like this (I just typed this a few minutes ago...)

find|grep subdomains|awk -F/ '{print $4"."$2 ;}'|sort -u

Stick with windows since you are not computer savvy, there are more 'less technical' support forums out there than you will find for Linux OS.

If your not computer savvy then just stick to windows as you'll get better help from other users when u get stuck or dont know how to deal with a problem. Also as mentioned many programs suitable for windows OS and plenty of games too :)

You can use both Operating Systems with ease after you familiarized yourself with them. The problem is that certain applications are not available for Non-Windows Operating Systems. The developers want to make money, therefore they write applications for the 89% market share holder and not for the 4% market and other marginal - but probably better - market participants. SUN Solaris 10, for example.

Ubuntu is free and stable operating system but if you are not computer-savvy, you better stick to Windows. Windows also has more choices of application softwares.
