Windows 7 - xp performance & vista looks
Windows 7 looks like going to give MAC tough competition.
It has excellent Interface - looks better than MAC in terms of accessibility and ease of use and looks.
Performance wise its like XP (or better).
Looks are better then VISTA.
I think one must Download BETA and give it a try.
I am sure those who hate VISTA would definite like this improvement.
And those who suffered b'coz of vista and r still planning to buy Mac, would reverse their mind after working on this.
I guess Win 7's main problem is 3rd Party Application's compatiblity.
And so also "driving signing" Microsoft is planning to stop the installation of the "unsigned driver" wonder if they have implemented it in Windows 7.
R7....they slimed down the OS to enable it to run off the Net-Book. So ineffect what you saw must have been the "end product beta".
Still early days .....its better waiting a couple of years...lol
I tried out the Beta and was'nt very impressed, I don't see a big difference from Vista in the looks or interface.
I guess it runs fast now cause features and functions are limited as it is just the Demo version.
For full fledged use u definitely need a High Spec machine to run it.
No way of experiencing it till the full version OS is out.
I tested on Dell Optiplex 620 with 1GB RAM and 3.2 GHz processor, which is a reasonably good machine.
It seems to be almost same performance as XP. However, I agree that more RAM (2GB) should further improve performance.
I suggest performance of any OS would depand on type of machine one is using - e.g. assembled or branded. There is significant difference between the two.
It uses too many resources, similar to Vista. Can't beat XP in terms of performance!
So, how is it for
a. security
b. stability
These are my two bug bears for Winders, and my main reasons for looking at a Mac.
