mine is build post 7000, not sure on the expiration date.. isnt microsoft planning to launch in the end of 2009?? not sure either... thanks for that update dandy..

Useful command in Windows 7:

1. Hold down the Win Key + R to bring up the Run box. Type CMD to get up our ever classic command prompt.

Note: you need to be an admin to execute the commands below.

slmgr -dli (this will display the current activation/licensing info of the pc your on)

slmgr -ipk xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx (allows you to replace the current product key with the specified)

slmgr -xpr (shows expiration date of current license)

slmgr -upk (uninstalls current product key and i would assume puts license back to trial state)

slmgr -ato (activates current pc’s license)

slmgr -skms activationservername or slmgr -skms port or slmgr -skms activationservername:port (sets KMS server used for activation and/or port, ie slmgr -skms 192.168.10.1:8090 or slmgr -skms KMSServer:8090)

slmgr -rearm (resets the licensing status of the machine)

slmgr -ckms (clears the name of KMS server used to default and port to default)

qs, yeah it is like a free taste and i can tell that the taste is really sweet. :P and like shyams said, its like a give and take.

fiery, i cannot 100 percent agree that Mac is very stable.. it has also weaknesses.. same like windows..

i use Mac, but i still use windows xp in my VMWARE app to use some windows based software.. I installed windows 7 in my bootcamp and i love it. The good thing i really love in Mac is the hardware performance. it never lets me down. :P

shyams, in windows website its not available for download anymore.. but in torrent site, it is still available.

also, you said it the expiration is June.. i think this is for earlier version or lower that Build 7000.

according to microsoft website:

But for Build 7068, t will be March 1st of 2010. By then, final version will be out and you can purchase it.

well, i go for stability, i go for Apple Mac... But since I have not enough budget in purchasing new laptop, i stick with my current OS. :o)

Windows 7 ultimate - beta version is no longer available for download. i downloaded it in January and using it since then with most satisfaction over the crap vista.. Microsoft accepts the flaw in vista design hence bringing out improved vista as Windows 7.

start time is impressive and no annoying permission seeking for every program launch unlike vista.

its good. if you want i can share the dvd and you get get a legal key from the Microsoft straight away and keep updated... but remember the beta version is valid until June. if interested to test go for it... and not to replace your primary OS...

if you want most stable PC.. then Apple Mac is the answer.

QS.. its a win-win situation.. you report a bug and they improve their OS to give YOU a better and stable OS,, as simple as that. so actually we help ourselves for a stable OS.. do u have a choice other than Windows???? except Mac???? so why not help Microsoft and help the community in one way. no harm...

Dandy... this is a trial version... users are welcome to report all bugs in order to finalize the product... do you think Microsoft will do anything for FREE??? yeah right..

i agree with you. windows 7 is beta and not advisable to use by some newbie in computers...

but for me, i installed it in my bootcamp..

and i love it. :P (i like tweaking. hehe)

the build 7068 x86 is ok.

it looks good and feel good than windows vista.

it solve most of the bugs in software issues.

Windows 7 is yet not released and just a Beta....ie a testing Software.....It could crash, have bugs and could be infested by viruses, could loose your private data ....and Microsoft will not be blamed.

Win 7 is being planned to be offically released around May 09.

Also the Beta Version of the Windows 7 will expire on 1 June 2010.

i tried Windows 7 Beta..i suggest u dont use it becoz it have many bugs...wait for the final version it will worth
