Why so many Land Cruisers

carlosmarx
By carlosmarx

I am new. Why is it that the Land Cruiser is the vehicle of choice in Qatar and why are they all the same color with the odd go-faster stripe? I mean, they are nice vehicles but hardly the only option out there.

Is this true of the whole Gulf or just Qatar? And when did this happen. The display of old cars are all Fords.

The straight six inline engine in landcruisers share the same(similar) engine block as Supras (2JZ and 1FZ), 1FZ has been bored to 4.5 L, these blocks are known for durability. Typically , a landcruiser's engine can do 500,000+ KM without any major issues/maintenance.

Land Cruisers were not made for the Gulf. They were originally made for the Japanese army. I agree pennie. Just a bunch of sheep unable to make their own choices.

Being the Land Cruiser salesman and the Toyota dealership must be the easiest job on earth . . .

"Hello Sir. Can I interest you in a Land Cruiser? May I suggest the white with the discerning stripe? Excellent choice. We happen to have one in stock."

yes 220V... much like a camel.. its economically cheaper than a GMC horse... you don't have to worry about not finding a water hole for it to survive.

GMC is more reliable than a toyota in the long run..

that is why if u c in bigger desserts like Saudi .. its all GMC.

Toyota is economically cheaper but GMC have more life span.

its like their camel now....same guy, same dessert but with a different camel..... you cant take any other animal than a camel if you plan to travel across the dessert.... and survive...

Landcruisers are big, can accomodate a large family, can go anywhere and best of all are dependable.

I like Hummer H2, but it is expensive. I thought that China would buy it, the price might drop dramatically. However, it seems that China is not going to do that.

The drivers are clearly over compensating for something. And because they have money, but not individual taste or connoisseurship, they simply buy what everyone else has down to the ‘go faster stripe’. It’s the same with new money everywhere. The more Land Cruisers, Lamborghinis, and Rolls-Royces, the newer the money (and usually the more corrupt).

arabic family is consist of so many members. so they prefer to have a big car so can accomodate the whole family if they want to go out in family day.

and also, arabic guys specially likes to stay in the tent with their friends in the middle of the desserts, so they use 4 wheels car and strong car for sure in order to drive in the desert. well u cant use the city car or racing car while in the desert, u might got stuck in the sand. lo0o0ol.......

and about the stripe thing, i have no idea why, but the most colour they prefer here is white and black. its like a traditional colour or something.....
