Why do people tend to misplace our Priorities
Well its quite a boring day here on QL, so how about a quick topic...
We have discussed all sorts of stuff, and we keep discussing many things on life, love and death and what not...
Alrite look at this for a change...
As a Kid, we've some short term asiprations...
As a Teenager, one step in front of Childhood and one behind Adulthood, we have a few other priorities, for some of us, is to pass out of college with high flying colors, for a few it is to get the best girl in the town, for few, it is to get laid (actually for most...LOL!!!), then as we move on...
As an Adult: we tend to have different priorities...
As a person growing with age and responsibility again priorities change...
I aint asking what your priorities in Life are, but more of a question that I am hitting at is...
Why do WE Tend to Misplace our Priority...
For ex: Why does job come before you, your family etc,
Why does money come before the peace of mind that you long for...
Why does it look like we all have got some of our priorities in the wrong order, whatever they might be...
A boring topic to suit a boring day at QL, but still interesting to be talked about, maybe we all could put down whats inside you and then maybe suddenly have a check on yourself...
So come on, whats with the growing age and responsibility that forces us to misplace our priorities in the wrong order...
What do you think...?
We set our priorities in accordance to our responsibilities.
"Why does job come before you, your family etc",
You need a Job to save you & your family.
"Why does money come before the peace of mind that you long for..."
No Money no peace of mind. simple.
Remember you can not eat LOVE :)
KSA please find a job which keeps you busy.... :-)
We at times loose sight of the goals we set ourselves by being too busy stumbling along in life.
Motivation is when your dreams put on work clothes.
- Ben Franklin
priorities change as we mature, take on different responsibilities and learn from previous mistakes.. It's all part of life!
Our conscious and sub-conscious is constantly bombarded with information that tells us what is valued by society.
From body image to cars and lifestyle the message is sent that your value is directly related to how you look, what you drive, what your title is, etc. And while common sense tells you that you should not define yourself by others expectations - in reality social pressure does play a role in how we see ourselves as we often judge our personal success on how we are seen through the eyes of the culture we live in.
QL aint any boring today...

You don't have anything.
If you look at what you have in life;
You have everything.
I think it has more to do with societal pressures and changes. In every culture in the world there is a shift now away from things like faith and family towards working and money.

They just shift focus.
misplaced priorities? i dont think so. each one has different perspective in life. your priorities may not be my priorities. some people are workaholic rather than spending time with their families...they may have reasons, even the norm says its family first.
for me, i can say that my priorities are still in order.
I think I've discovered the secret of life - you just hang around until you get used to it. ~Charles Schulz

as you said when we are young we are full of hopes and aspirations, but sometimes we take the wrong turning at the crossroads and life changes us, sometimes for the better and all too often for the worse.
As I got older my family were of utmost importance to me, now, they are grown and living their own lives, independant good people, so I had to make a choice, stay in the UK just incase they needed me or come here, be me, be with who I wanted to be with and live for me.
so far, am glad to say, I think I made the right choice in changing my priorities x
