Why can't ladies be more understanding ?

Anniversaries happen every year, but England reaching the quarter finals of the European Tournament occurs once in a blue moon.

So, should she be more understanding ?

One England fan looks to be in the doghouse with his partner when he gets back from the Ukraine after a banner was hung over a bridge declaring: 'I hope the quarter finals are worth missing our anniversary for.'

The message was directed at a man named only as Chris who appeared to have defied his wife's wishes and flown out for the Euro 2012 clash with Italy on Sunday.

The 5ft by 3ft banner has been hung over a busy dual carriageway in Birmingham where thousands of motorists pass by each day, reports Yahoo! News.

It read: 'Chris, hope the quarter finals are worth missing our anniversary for - don't rush back!'

Hubby going away would be a great anniversary gift for me, but only if he took baby with him and left me with a few vouchers for the spa. :P

LOOOOL! Does it show? Honestly, I don't watch it much. Maybe it is because I don't havethe channels to watch it on the TV. I have seen a few matches here and there but I don't think I would leave behind a loved one to fly to a different country to see the game. Anyway, I don't think it would be too much trouble to bring her along. Maybe she would be willing to be "one of the guys" for the time. ;)

i would be understanding. i have my own obsessions as well. i know how it feels to care about something so much you're willing to abandon the real world for a day or two. the presence of ladyloves may probably just dampen the mood, especially if anniversary expectations are involved. there's something special about male camaraderie in moments like this. anniversaries happen every year. these things happen only every four years (? i have no idea, please correct me if i am wrong) and the team he supports may not be in the quarterfinals next time. the girl will probably not have a great time as well if england lost and he'll end up taking out his frustrations on her. on their anniversary.

i probably don't sound like a girl saying this, but who knows? i might have done exactly the same thing the lady did if i myself was in that situation. but i'm not so i'll never know.

AFTER!!! I SAID AFTER the game! Seriously watching football all day long? Something for him and then something for her. The least he could do is take her a long maybe she can spend his money while he is hugging his mates and enjoying his beers. ^^ Like I said something for her and something for him. Everybody is happy.

We're talking football here ... It comprises, shouting, cheering, being loud, hugging your mates, shouting abuse at the referee and lots and lots of beer. It does not include "romantic dinners"

Why didn't he take her with him? Then after the game they both can have a nice romantic dinner. There was no compromise.

haha, that banner message sounded nasty. I wouldn't pin my hopes on her being understanding. Damsel's solution is perfect, he should take her with him. And if not, the wife should let him go, and he can make up for it later. Anniversary expectations can be ridiculous, you can't force your spouse to cherish the lovely memories of married life ;)
