I tried viewing the website of National Human Rights Committee to have a little information as to when the new Qatar Sponsorship Law will be released and other working related issues I want to know to clear the cloud in my mind. However, the english version is blocked. The message prompted to the webpage says : "You are not authorized to view this page". Why????????

see this: www.nhrc-qa.org and click WELCOME (English)

Here's the Peninsula article from the end of May last year.

After it appeared, a few prominent businessmen campaigned against any change to the exit permit and sponsorship systems, but I believe changes are still being planned. Who knows what will happen eventually.

I was able to load the main web site page and Is not block by QTEL.

The problem is the internal links of that particular website are not working properly.

I use the following browsers IE, Firefox and Safari and all came back with the same results.

I was able to ping the web site and it did replied back as active.

Maybe it's your firm, blocking access to the NHRC website so you can't see how to make a complaint. What did you want to find - I can paste the text here if you'd like.

As far as the revisions to the sponsorship law, I don't think any timescale has been set.
