q: There is a closed room with a light in it. Outside, there are 3 light switches. You can flick any of the switches any number of times. You can only open the door and go into the room once. You know that the light is initially off. How can you determine which light switch operates the light?

The Same solution works for it.
one of the bulb will be ON - the last one switched ON.
one of them will be warm and OFF - the first one swiched ON and then OFF.
the last one will be cool and OFF- the untouched one.

if there are tree switches outside, and the light inside is off, then one switch had got to b in position different fron the other two. left, right or center, that switch controls the light.

I knew it was about the heat of the bulb.
He did not say the room was dark, so obviously its not about left the bulb on.

ans: First do the following
Step 1: Flick Switch 1 and wait for half an hour.
Step 2: Put Switch 1 Off and Flick switch 2 and open the door.
Conclusion
1.If the light is On , Switch 2 is the one.
2.If the light is Off, then touch the bulb,
3.If the bulb is very hot, It will be switch 1 (Reason , when the bulb is switched on for half an hour it will be very hot)
4.Otherwise it is Switch 3
not the Camel itself is crazy...the crazy is the one who is riding this Camel...

Switch one switch on for 2 minutes, switch it off and switch the second one on.
Open the door, if the light is on it was the second switch, if it is off but warm it was the first switch, if it is off but cold then it was the third switch (the one you didn't touch)
Scenario I:
It is the middle one in case the one towards the door has a bell mark on it. The one on the other end is for the light on the outside of the room and that switch is most likely already in ON position.
Scenario II:
If bell mark is not on the one towards the door, then the room light will be switched on with this one.. i.e. the side one towards the door.

the electricians were from here...all the switches are on the outside of the rooms..drives me nuts...

ok...switch two of the light switches ON...open door and if light is on, then its one of them and switch ONE of them off...see the result. IF the lights are not on at all when initially opening the door, then its the one switch that you didn't flip on.
well, gotcha... is it just me or the switches are mostly INSIDE the room?

If I can open the door only once, I'd keep it open and check all of them. It doesn't mean I have to open and close it everytime I try ;o)
Besides, it would always show from down on the floor even on the other side if the lights go on and off.

turn them on for different intervals of time...
go out to feel them... the hotest one is the one trhat has been turned on the longest the coldest one is the one turned on the shortest ;) good day everyone!
