Thank you all intellectuals who posted here..great replies...i like it....since we have many stars, we might have planets similar to our earth with sea...perhaps there are beaches as well, if there are beaches, there might be sand, if they are similar to the one we have here, then possibility that we have more grain of sand than star does exist.
But then again, I would like to thank LP , topnotch(specially for the telegraph link), nomad08 and Britexpat for your useful comments.
To the rest I say thank you for your 'Intellectual' input. I guess these scientists who did the research published in the daily telegraph have put their intelligence to shame. At least according to your views above. Man, I envy you for your Intelligence. Where did you get it? From breastfeeding I am sure cause I survived on LongLife milk.

i think there are more stars in the galaxy than there are grain of sands on earth.
... and I am sure that the number will increase in the coming years with the new telescopes deployed in earth's orbit.
For every grain of sand on every beach on earth there are a million galaxies out there. Now you have an idea about the size of the universe.
Guess I was wrong then!
It's the same.
Carl Sagan once said - Those worlds in space are as countless as all the grains of sand on all the beaches of the earth..
So, there is no way to count them :o)
:D
My shot in the dark answer!
Either we are falling short of intelligent topics to debate on OR it is a coded message we need to decipher.
"grain of sand" - means a single grain, so there must be more stars in the galaxy..
This could be one of those useless research subjects like we often come to see these days..

What a pointless waste of space.
Fish in the sea.

I think we have more grain of sand than star. I am also sure there are more morons like me around.
