Wheres a nice beach for free??

By macliam

Hi peeps! Can anyone tell me where theres a nice beach to head to around Qarar. One that you dont have to pay for and you dont get harrassed by locals. Last time I was at Sealine or Al Khor local people kept coming over to where we were sitting and creating problems.

Obviously secluded places are normally not well known, but if anybody would care to tell me of a decent quiet place that they know of itd be much appreciated

We are all entitled to our own views, that’s the best thing about non Arab cultures, we do not discriminate others we do not follow the same actions as others, we do what we feel inside. And the best part of being a non Arab, we do not discriminate and act like filthy racist like you. Have a great day my new friend.

EL BUENO is right about the situation but i do not think its a right way to show your anger,

Create some forum about that n discuss it there.

What you think guys........?

El Bueno, I would agree with you about the ugliness, but your response is making the situation worse.

Yor are not safe if you are attractive and wearing some eye catching clothes (i think its a right word :S) in any part of the world.

About free so everywhere is free xcept some beach resorts but if you want quality with safety you got to pay some MONEY or try to go at the edges of the country in any direction except ABU SAMRA side :D

Okay then, I'll give you the ultimate tip: you should have a Qatari friend. He will then proudly show you all around his country and offer it to you generously. That's all.

I find nothing offensive about my pic added here, the only thing I see offensive is you and your comment calling it a dirty pic… you and your comments should be removed, we don’t need people like you here in Ql. And to add to that, I find it much better than having a picture of Clint Eastwood posted in my box.

If you want to find nice beaches...take time, head out and just drive off road along some of the highways. There are lovely ones that hardly anyone knows about.

I take my dogs to one that locals don't go to because I don't want to bother anyone. Now...that being said...like someone else said...some of the people will drive along, right up next to you and make hooting noises and stare(this is usually at Al Waakra) We just ignore them or wave our hands and say go away. Usually they do. They don't mean any harm, just curious...especially when they see at least 7 dogs running around us!!

If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you; that is the main difference between a dog and man.

bleu spoke it out. If you are too lazy to discover Qatar you will have to pay. I never was "harrassed" by locals. Most of the time they offered some fish that they caught (for free, as a present). Maybe something is not right with you, my dear friend?

Either it's a nice beach but not for free, or an ugly beach but free for all.

can any one tell me the location of this Zikreet beach, i would love to go out there with my family. i am not sure if its a good ideal! iam sick and tired of shopping and having lunch at the malls and hotels every friday. need some out door activities such as pic nicking and stuff like that. some where casual and open nature.

is it a place for single or also good for family?

thanks in advance.

I don't want to be rude to anyone but at Zikreet, the only people who make me feel uncomfortable are the big group of Europeans who go there every Friday, get drunk, drink drive along the beach, sunbathe topless and have shouted insults at me when I have been walking past minding my own business. I hope the ostrich catch up with them

Zikreet beach is lovely and big enough for everyone. I have never had any hassle, even with 2 dogs. It is well worth a day out and there are shops and food places nearby in Zikreet industrial area and outside the gate to Dukhan including McDonalds. The sea is so clean and there is hardly any litter. Stay near the coast though, the ostrich are really aggressive at the moment.

You should have told them to [removed by mod]! it's those sorts of Qataris that spoil it for the rest of us.

There was a story circulatiing the other day that said a kite surfer was arrested in Al Wakra as some Qatari took offense to him, as if the guy owned the whole beach. The police came and said that it was illegal to kite surf in Qatar and arrested him for 6 hours...then let him go.

At Al Khor the locals told us to go away as it was a Qatari only beach. We were just sat there fishing when they came over in their cars and told us to move on...so much for all Qatar is free beach eh..?
