Where can I find Brer Rabbit books?

Where can I find Enid Blyton's hardbound Brer Rabit book series for children? I had all the Brer Rabbit books as a kid now I can't find any in the Book stores. It was fun to read and I want to give it to some kids at home.
Can any one suggest a book store having them please?

You are welcome to borrow any books you like from me.

Yes, Amazon does deliver to any address you chose as long as you choose it as a gift :-)

Thanks for the offer Cabbage...I will be happy to read a few of those if you lend me some, when I come to Doha.

I was actually looking to buy some books to gift to someone. I think if I order online @ Amazon it will be delivered to their adress.

No I never read any of their books as a kid ...but I have noticed their books in my junior school Library. They are the ones who made the Each Peach Pear Plum which is so popular with the kids.

You are welcome and the offer for the Enid Blyton books stands. Have you ever read any books by Janet and Allan Alhberg?

They are great books for kids and really engage them :-)

They are a good old fashioned read too.

Britex we don't need kids books to be PC. Like that you will end up banning all the good books including the fairy tales!

I would like some Politically incorrect books too!

Rishi I am talking about little children's books here. Nick Carter or Harold Robbins aren't exactly meant for the tiny tots!

I remember as a kid I preferred books with a lot of pictures in it. So I had a lot of those ladybird books...the little bunnikins and the downy duckling etc.

One more publication I really liked was the Vostok .. This publication disappeared with the fall of the Soviet Union. Their main job was soviet propaganda.... free of cost, but still they used to have quite a lot of excellent children's books...or rather books pertaining to all subjects. These books was part of the strategy and they worked as a camouflage so that their mission of spreading Soviet propaganda becomes less obvious.

But for me...I really loved their books..and I think some of their writers and illustrators were so talented! I think the Western kids really were deprived of these fantastic books!

I really enjoyed one particular red cloth bound book by Vladimir Sutayev...I really miss such books!

There are only 2 countries in the Gulf besides Qatar in the Gulf where people still come to work....Oman and UAE. So If I am not wron you will be in one of these 2 countries. So you will still be logging in QL? Right?

Recently bought a Kindle and I am hooked. Never again will I be limited to the boring selection of books available here when I can browse the whole of amazon.

For anyone who is thinking of buying one but hesitating I would recommend trying one out. I would be happy to demo mine to anyone who is interested or even lend it out for a couple of days.

You are not limited to Amazon for books for the kindle since there are other ebook download sites and these can be uploaded to the kindle with a free software download.

edifis, no matter if they are better or not, it can't hurt to give kids a choice...who knows, they might enjoy them...just as we did.

And if nothing else...you can read them again, just for nostalgia's sake! ;)

tinkerbell, I love my kindle. It wiil never replace "real" books, I still read those too.

But the kindle was great to have in Qatar and when traveling.

Nomerci..me too! But now the tastes are changing. I see kids reading different kinds of books these days. I can't say whether these books are better or worse as I haven't read them...but these new books just don't appeal to my eyes.

But I think the books that you read as a child makes a permanent impression in your mind...and when we see today's kids reading other books...we feel they are missing our books.

I know tink, I have given up on it. Looking forward to my kindle...will still buy books in the US though...can't quite live without them!

Thanks Tinker...I had a hunch that for some reason these books are off the shelf allover the world...But I can't think of any reason..Now it seems you are correct...they can't be found anywhere. So Amazon is the only place. Btw is there any branch of Barnes & Noble in Qatar?

I noticed them too. But I think those are the other books...the Noddy books, Naughty Amelia Jones and the Secret Seven books....not the ones I need.
