Why are some qlers been aiming to get a higher points? What’s the use of these points? Is there any award for the highest pointers or some other benefits for the most active members? Just asking… :-)

I think i made a biggest crime yesterday by posting about my achievement of 10000 POINTS..lolzz..some people r unable to hold on their temptation to earn points..
This is to inform you that your knowledge of the value of this points is very limited and as such it relies upon me to enlighten you of its benefits and reasons for some users to get more points.
Think of it as a new employee that recently joins a company..and they suddenly have a bigger salary compared to the ones that were in the company for a long time contributing valuable information and helping the company grow. Its pure jealousy...i want more point coz i want more points.
Benefits of having more points
1. I can open up a new thread to tell everyone i have a lot of points collected in the process i'm earning more points.
2. People think i'm a very active member and have contributed a lot of valuable information but in reality majority of my points are gained by one liners and senseless remarks made on each and every new topic opened up.
3. I can redeem my points for nothing that is important which in turn tells me not to get greedy for more points
thats all i can think of now..and i just got one more point :)
gtim, its race to become most active QLer, May be for self satisfaction or secret hope that the points may reward them in some way. I see no other reason :-)
