I'm new to the country. I came last month. from the very first day i didnt like the country. I was wondering why i dont like it. There r lots of reasons came to my mind as u all have given in your comments.

last week i went to a birthday party of t friend of mine, Srilankan freind. I asked the little fellow who is now 4 yrs old, which country do u like? Srilanka or Qatar? Instantly he said Sri Lanka. I asked why?

He said Qatar is Ugly..... Wow he was so true. thats the real reason. this place has beautiful buildings, nice new vehicles ect....But its still ugly. There r so many ugly things here....

What's the point of having money if you are bored out of your mind. You'll spend what you make just getting out of here for somewhere nice.

Dubai for a break... that's like going to another McDonalds for a change of scene.

Doha does not offer a lot in terms of entertainment. You're not going to be able to catch a play or concert & the shopping experience is not the best.

BUT, and I'll be making some assumptions here, not knowing what your offer package is:

You won't have to pay for housing and you'll probaly get a nice

apartment or house

No taxes up to $80,000 U.S. - sweet!

You get a car or a generous driving allowance.

If you're a social person, you can still have a social life.

I've managed to do it and I've only been here 4 months.

If you love to travel, you are in a prime spot - Turkey, Greece,

Spain, the Maldives, Jordan, Egypt, Dubai, India - you can get

some cheap flights and accomodations. I know tons of people who

have done that while they've been here.

4 - 5 weeks vacation - need I say more?

I've met some great people while I've been here. I've enjoyed meeting people from so many different cultures - it's just great seeing how other people think and view the world.

I'd say that meeting people and having a social circle is key to enjoying life in Qatar. Keep an open mind and you'll enjoy your time here.

Sure, there are negatives to being here, but my overall experience has been great and I'm sad that it's coming to an end.

Again, you can make your experience good or bad. It's all in how you approach it.

The only thing here that is better than New York is the weather. On the other hand, a few months here will really make you appreciate New York City.

No Mir, money doesn't buy happiness, but all the things that do give you happiness, like a social life, culture, entertainment aren't available in Doha, so she should stay in New York.

Seriously, why else would we all be here besides MONEY.

With money comes hundred vices and pleasures Its just too many desires.. Luk alexa u r here just for the sake of money... And that wont definitely give u any sort of happiness in life...

With money comes false status and identity thats all..Beyond that love materialises only with affection and closeness and warmth of those who care for you and are around you which includes one's parents...

Its a tuff tradeoff but finally money rules...

Have you lived anywhere but NY?

If not, then spread your wings and try it.

It dun't really matter.

Money doesnt buy happiness. The consumers satisfaction relative to the income is equally a determinant.. Todays cost of living erodes the potential for savings for an average individual... The laws of diminishing marginal returns applies....
