i think its more about how well you are with each other...

i mean i know some people would say this is gay... but my best friend... who i call a my muse is a guy... and his fiance always says me and him are soul mates... simple because we do great work together and can come up with some really good comedy when we write together...

now as of an opposite sex soul mate... i dont think it has to be love... because you can just be great friends... but its better to have a spouse as a soul mate also because then you can feel free to be your self around them... and you dont have to be reserved...
