What?? She is a Qatari you mean??
Woman jailed for possessing drugs
A local woman, who was caught at Doha Airport possessing small sachets containing hashish in her jacket for consumption purposes, was sentenced by a Doha court of first instance to a month’s imprisonment and a QR10,000-fine.
An upper court suspended the jail penalty and upheld the fine.
The 51- year-old woman landed in Doha from Iran, the judges heard.
A forensic result found her to be a drug addict.
The minimum jail penalty for possession of drugs is six months imprisonment but the court said it considered the circumstances of the woman.
Nice one Fathimah...people needs help and understanding...
In Saudi they would have killed her.
she must hav been setup..or the cops tipped off..when was the last time u saw anybody being frisked on landing in doha..unless the jacket was in her luggage..which is dumb if ur carrying drugs in it..
You stick to ground breaking research on Banana's Neyo and leave the more serious issues of the day to the adults ok - now shoo, run alone....dickwad
every law has an exemption
the court here respect the elders ;b
51 year old local woman with hashish and the upper court upheld the sentence considering the circumstances. What an interesting conviction!
one messed up mama! I hope she was dully rehabilitated if not jailed.
Frenchieman: I find it hard to agree that GT (which is a govt. puppet) would ever use a word that'l put people under impression that a Qatari is accused of crimes unless its really done.
yeah, bananas are far more interesting
Whatever!
frenchieman, trust me, they are pretty good about pointing out people's nationalities
Local does not always mean Qatari in the GT court reports. Sometimes they use the word interchangeably with Arab women who do not have citizenship but have lived her virtually all of their lives.
There are so many really positive aspects to living in Qatar and genuinely I do like the life and the place HOWEVER the inconsistencies of the legal system here AINT one of the attractions!!!!! Hey ho - crack on!! (no pun intended)
I think they considered that she had her period.
Would those circumstances include being an Al Thani?
Should've posted in "Funnnies", Chairboy.
