What happened to QL?

Simple..the members expectations are not the same.

Hope the moderators will do their part- warn whenever necessary.

a 36 - 45 years old male who's life is on QL and his biggest contribution to the community is just plain stupidity and constant non-seriousness.

It says a lot about how much of a joke you are in real life man. Way to go, keep it up ..

How about every one of you dissatisfied people pitches in like a 250 riyals yo build a new forum worth joining.

-Those who pitch in will be all part owners.

-Those who pitch in are the ones to make the rules

-Extreme care is to be taken to ensure the new forum is scam-free with proper ways to authenticate Ads.

I am very serious.

I even have the resources to build this thing.

There are 2 kinds of people, those who talk and those who do. 250 riyal will not break anyone's back and this will probably spread like a cancer if you all contribute and spread the word!

readmode,.in my opinion means reading more then replying to topics and that's what i do,.. read more and dont reply to all i read ;)

It's a violation of QLs rule 3 and rule 5 Theo. so I guess that means the mods have to take action.

No point having guidelines and to enforcing them I guess.

I mean ya, its a mix blend, sometimes just stupid topics (Non-offensive in nature) just to lighten things up, don't harm site's reputation. I guess a gentle laughter here and there.

I have seen some very serious topic on the board and its good that people actually participate in them.

What disturbs me the most is that, religions, lifestyles and country of origin and personal stuff gets bashed by others. Its a free world out there, everybody is free to live their own life , and no one and i mean it no one is a super being. Everyone has a past and deserves respect.

Just wanted to say out loud, what i felt, although, Deadman is rarely found so serious on QL.

One of the many reason i prefer to be on read mode...i find it pointless getting into arguments with morons who have a one track mind stuck on turning everything into religion and cant make a proper discussion without shamelessly making an arse of themselves.

I've been following QL forum for about a year now I felt the need to say that it has gone down hill in the last few months so many angry people on here with nothing good to say about anything I find it very sad and wonder what is so bad in their lives that they have a need to be rude to other people

when ou hit the top, there is no other way but to go down. And of course, once it recovered, the only way is UP!

Maturity does not mean you attack a religion or abuse a religion indirectly...show your maturity in good topics or show the positive side of your heart

QL has become a tug of war between atheists and the religious

Few users bring religion showing it in a positive way..and few who like hell show it in a negative way...This is all what happens daily in QL

I agree with cherukkan..seems like it's been ages I have seen a solid discussion extending 3 or 4 pages on a serious subject.

Some QLers are way too sensitive and others have a mean streak and will do anything and everything to rile others up.

People are busy elsewhere...

Also in the beginning there was no information on QL about Qatar... information got formed along with discussion... now if a person wants to find something... he searches QL... finds it on QL.... takes down the points... closes the page and moves on... life is easier...

So there is more information... less discussion... are you asking to turn the clock back?... it is possible... the site owner will have to delete all the info about Qatar... and then again the cycle will happen...

I agree with you cheruk,I used to post questions about how is it like living in qatar before coming to work here a couple of years back.people seems more welcoming back then,how time change.

...then again,a web site is just like a clean sheet of paper,the members determine what the shape and colors will be drawn..

as someone who mostly watches from the sidelines, i'm of the humble opinion that a great concept like QL is well up to the task of surviving it's few negative influences. any new arrival in qatar makes QL one of their first stops in the quest to settle down. seasoned qatar residents know to use QL to get through their daily lives. I personally found the kind of rare car i wanted on QL, all my accommodations and many friends their jobs..not to mention wonderful and hilarious people like Fatima, Brit and others. So, as Brit put it so well, 'this too shall pass':-)

Every product has a life cycle: birth, success, and decline. QL probably has had its day.
