What exactly is the art of seduction ?
Is there an "art" to seduction. Is it different in different countries..
Elaine Sciolino, in her new book says that seduction is about compliments, smiles and mutual pleasure.
what is your take on it ? Do men and women see it differently ?

The book's central premise is that la séduction is at the heart of French life. But we shouldn’t confine the term la séduction to its English sense of schmoozing a person in order to get her into bed. The French word can be applied to anything that tickles your senses, be it chocolate, perfume or even a car. In French you can be seduced by a cheese.
She says, the French have an art de vivre, whereas Americans have only a way of life. It’s all about the loving care that is put into every baguette and every côte de boeuf (providing you’re lucky enough to live near a good boulangerie and butcher), and it’s true — France is a country that can be great at the good things in life.
There is an amusing section on the 17 rules for married men conducting an affair, which include lying “intelligently” and the tragic “never fall in love.” Ms. Sciolino examines differing female attitudes to male adultery; in the States it is a sin, whereas in France, she asserts, it is simply a fact, and women accept that “maybe it’s just the way he is.”
The philosopher-socialite Bernard-Henri Lévy is entertaining, though perhaps not intentionally so, when he comes out with the classic line “What distinguishes men from animals is seduction.”
