we see them outside their homes they're like normal and civilized people. well i should say that, the arab expats (i will not name names) u should be careful with them.. AS IF THEY OWN QATAR.

You forgot to add Crude oil spills are pure, sometimes Gas is most of the time pure. We might add the last episode of Battle Star Galactica and the twelve tribes was filmed under water and the Italian spaghetti westerns was filmed here once only.
If God dropped acid, would he see people? -- George Carlin
Just like human all over the world are, you get good and bad every where , after all we are all born after 9 months, this is human being nature no difference....
Qataris or not, people treat people as to how people carry themselves. I do believe that respect begets respect, hate begets hate, so on and so forth. Guys... just remember the "Golden Rule". We project the aura that people give away on treating us. Make yourself respectable and you willbe respected. Love yourself and you will be loved. the world moves with the tip of our little fingers so to say...
locals are okay, quite polite i should say. but those of other nationalities, they think they own the country just because they, too, are wearing toubs/abayas. duh.
Dont get me wrong qataries are a wonderful race....personality wize..... but the money that comes with them sometimes makes them all high nosed... you get that stupid line... " your in my country now " ...
But like i said i like their personality but their just qataries.... they always have this other deep back bone...
I knew a great qatari once...good guy... gave alot... really funny guy... but then that back bone popped up..and he gave it to me....no were like people that just bump into each other....
" Never depend on a qatari, their pride on money can kill "
No offence to anyone, this is just my thought of the question..lol
my first excursion into the desert and beach got my 2 wheel truck bogged in the sand up to the bottom. Qatari gentlemen helped us out they were very gracious and offered to help us if it happened again, I was very Impressed with their hospitality
Qatari people are the best in arab world .I'm arabic it's the truth ,there is exception ,they may be qatari or non qatari. In general i like them and i am honored to live in qatar
Out of personal experience, Friendly, helpful on the road. I consider myself lucky to have few close Qatari friends who are of prominent families, well educated, good conversationalist. Real friends when in need.
Remark about The young boys that flash the cars in front of them on the road. hehe
some are nice, respectful & some are not...it depends on their upbringing...
sad is.. i have this one sad experience when i was 7 months pregnant, my husband drop me in the nearby store then he will maneuver, while crossing the street there are groups of teenagers on their new land rover... when they saw me.. a pregnant lady.. big tummy.. they accelerate the car & speed up...so i ran FAST as i could..i guess they want to see how a pregnant lady ran.. i saw them laughing....i got so scared.....
There are all kinds of people in Qatar, as there are in other nations.
Due to the limit contact, foreigners have with Qataris, some type of behaviors become more visible than others.
In that aspect it's not a very common country, as their own social habits and culturally imposed restrictions (gender, marital status, nationality, social status, economical background, etc…) reduce a lot direct human contact. This scenario leaves the majority of us, not to have many opportunities to get to know much of the best (hospitality, friendliness, etc…), in the Qatari people.
In public spaces where restrictions do not apply and the direct contact cannot be avoided, such as roads, the worse (aggressive, dangerous and disrespectful driving attitude)of the Qatari people can be easily experienced.
Another generally negative aspect is their relations with subordinates (maids, drivers, etc...). The way some treat them in public, makes one wonder how much these subordinates suffer in private.
Where wealth is not attained as the result of hard work and education, there is a risk to encounter people lacking the best of human skills!
Some are great, some are jackasses, like in any country.
I do wish they'd take more care on the roads though. Just tonight coming from the airport they had the cornich blocked up with their cars, hazard lights on. We got out of their quick smart so as not to be caught up in it.
Should show them images and statistics of young Australians involved in car crashes, that would put things in perspective I think.
Blackeberry - Well, if you deal with them everyday, then you should know better than me. Noted.
How do you deal with them everyday? Working with Qataris? So far, I've heard that those who are working with or dealing with Qataris on a regular basis tend to say honestly that they are really nice people, shy but warm up once you get to know them - just like most people, ALMOST anywhere in the world ...
Qataris are just like people living in any part of the world,....they have their own unique qualities..some are well mannered, some are arrogant, some are courteous some are boastful...they are what they are...
Hmmm, we're obviously not trying hard enough to be mean and nasty. The special classes we have to go to to achieve a high level of unpleasantness can't be working.
well we all have diff experiences i deal with them daily and i can count the number who are nice..or have tried to be nice on one hand..maybe your experience has been fabulous with them...lucky you...and no its not only that incident that has put me off like i said it a daily affair..if it happened where i came from..i pity the kids..coz they would have got it good.
I am from England and I DO not tolerate bad behaviour from anybody from any country but you made out from that experience; all Qatari people are awful. That is wrong. Remember people from all over the world are logging on to this site to see things about Qatar and I don't think you rubbishing them with one incident that can happen anywhere in the world; helps this country at all. By the way, don't know where you are from, but I am sure if you are honest it happens in your country too!
i found them very friendly and very accomodating when you do need help. in the middle of nowhere if you got stucked on the sand dunes they the 1st to come and help you altho they dont speak much english.
Everybody is right everybody is wrong, it depend where you stand
I'm honest and if it's positive, I'll speak my mind in public - they are polite, well mannered and courteous.
Recently, there was one youngster overtaking my car from the left at the traffic light in his Landcruiser. But he was well mannered. He gestured to me to allow him to cut in. Quite politely expressive he was too. Quite hilarious. I was surprised since I heard and read so many complaints about arrogant Qataris. The older, more matured ones don't even do all this cutting in and queue jumping, etc. In fact, I've yet to meet a rude Qatari.
The rude ones and queue jumpers are the others - 3 groups of them .. shan't mention which but I'm sure you know as well as I do...
/Edit: just thought of this - they carry themselves well and I was thinking of a word to describe them... got it.. the ones I have seen are classy - the men and women. You could argue that because money is not an issue, they can afford material things but it's more than just outward appearances. It's simply the way they carry themselves.
People with money by mistake..uneducated and think they can treat others wh r less fortunate than themselves like trash the world has become a village and the man u disrespect now,you may find yourself cleaning my shoes one day life is a merry go round...i was extremely disgusted when one day i witnessed two extremely disgusting manners from these people..at city center we were waiting for a cab and out of now where this car speeds by and the kids in the car spray foam all over an innocent mans eyes and it hurts..we can tell, some kids nearby start laughing in his face acting like its funny when its not..the man is obviously in pain. The same kids r queueing for a cab which they refuse to pay for and they are asked to step out of the cab...they start spitting on the cab driver hollering all sorts of indecencies in arabic and u say they are nice??????????????gimme a break
What a thing to ask and if anybody can be truly honest as we are guests in their country!
However, I for one like them. I think they are very private people but if you make an effort with them they make an effort with you. I find them just like any other race; some truly nice people and some not so nice; rather like, you know, all human beings!

Thank you all ;)
reading the comments, are you happy what has been said about your fellow locals?
COMPARING WITH OTHER G.C.C NATIONALS QATARIS ARE NO.1. THEY ARE REALLY VERY GOOD PEOPLE TO BEHAVIOUR OHTER NATIONALITY PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!

You can't teach experience...
they`re good people, especially with the ladies they are very polite. but of course not all of them, some are bad. it`s the same in any other country.
First, it was the Indians and Filipinos being called nasty names, etc.
then Americans?
Now it seem that the spotlight is on the Qataris?
What nationality shall be lambasted next?
Just wondering...
Some are great, some are jackasses, like in any country.

Why you are asking about Qatari people, tell us first, what about you?
LOL
Its not me is it ?
Anyway, I've found them easy going and not really different from any other peoples..
You speak your mind and I respect you for that... not many do.
I don't fetch, I BITE
Its a mix I guess, but for some reason when some of them are behind the wheel, demon takes over their soul.
I am great full to be here and enjoy the lifestyle very difficult to achieve at home. So thanks Qatar.
I don't fetch, I BITE
do qataris have special magical powers or some crazy/weird sh1t going on that i don't know about???
stoopid question.
some are good, some are bad just like in any country in the world...
