Qataris or not, people treat people as to how people carry themselves. I do believe that respect begets respect, hate begets hate, so on and so forth. Guys... just remember the "Golden Rule". We project the aura that people give away on treating us. Make yourself respectable and you willbe respected. Love yourself and you will be loved. the world moves with the tip of our little fingers so to say...

this is only my thought...

Dont get me wrong qataries are a wonderful race....personality wize..... but the money that comes with them sometimes makes them all high nosed... you get that stupid line... " your in my country now " ...

But like i said i like their personality but their just qataries.... they always have this other deep back bone...

I knew a great qatari once...good guy... gave alot... really funny guy... but then that back bone popped up..and he gave it to me....no were like people that just bump into each other....

No offence to anyone, this is just my thought of the question..lol

There are all kinds of people in Qatar, as there are in other nations.

Due to the limit contact, foreigners have with Qataris, some type of behaviors become more visible than others.

In that aspect it's not a very common country, as their own social habits and culturally imposed restrictions (gender, marital status, nationality, social status, economical background, etc…) reduce a lot direct human contact. This scenario leaves the majority of us, not to have many opportunities to get to know much of the best (hospitality, friendliness, etc…), in the Qatari people.

In public spaces where restrictions do not apply and the direct contact cannot be avoided, such as roads, the worse (aggressive, dangerous and disrespectful driving attitude)of the Qatari people can be easily experienced.

Another generally negative aspect is their relations with subordinates (maids, drivers, etc...). The way some treat them in public, makes one wonder how much these subordinates suffer in private.

Where wealth is not attained as the result of hard work and education, there is a risk to encounter people lacking the best of human skills!

Some are great, some are jackasses, like in any country.

I do wish they'd take more care on the roads though. Just tonight coming from the airport they had the cornich blocked up with their cars, hazard lights on. We got out of their quick smart so as not to be caught up in it.

Should show them images and statistics of young Australians involved in car crashes, that would put things in perspective I think.

How do you deal with them everyday? Working with Qataris? So far, I've heard that those who are working with or dealing with Qataris on a regular basis tend to say honestly that they are really nice people, shy but warm up once you get to know them - just like most people, ALMOST anywhere in the world ...

I am from England and I DO not tolerate bad behaviour from anybody from any country but you made out from that experience; all Qatari people are awful. That is wrong. Remember people from all over the world are logging on to this site to see things about Qatar and I don't think you rubbishing them with one incident that can happen anywhere in the world; helps this country at all. By the way, don't know where you are from, but I am sure if you are honest it happens in your country too!

I'm honest and if it's positive, I'll speak my mind in public - they are polite, well mannered and courteous.

Recently, there was one youngster overtaking my car from the left at the traffic light in his Landcruiser. But he was well mannered. He gestured to me to allow him to cut in. Quite politely expressive he was too. Quite hilarious. I was surprised since I heard and read so many complaints about arrogant Qataris. The older, more matured ones don't even do all this cutting in and queue jumping, etc. In fact, I've yet to meet a rude Qatari.

The rude ones and queue jumpers are the others - 3 groups of them .. shan't mention which but I'm sure you know as well as I do...

/Edit: just thought of this - they carry themselves well and I was thinking of a word to describe them... got it.. the ones I have seen are classy - the men and women. You could argue that because money is not an issue, they can afford material things but it's more than just outward appearances. It's simply the way they carry themselves.
