What are we doing New Years Eve?

jdylan
By jdylan

Sorry, but I haven't seen this posted yet...but WTF is going on here in Doha on New Years Eve?

All I have seen so far is the DJ thing at Qube and another at Sealine (why the hell so far away?) A dangerous 45 minute drive through the desert when they could easily put up a tent near Doha?

Any other news about stuff to do?

Talking about the Qube? Not that I've heard of. I'm sure that if you step in earlier than usual you'll get a spot.

I'm going to the Dance Parade.

Got my VIP tickets ready.

You could always go to parties in any of the big hotels, ICE (Winter themed event but sold out now as far as I know), or Go Go 2008

u know sometime for best to celebrate new year's eve by solitude of prayers. for some of you moslem you can spend in the mosque take pray and read quran and for some of you christian or catholic go to church and pray, or just do it in your house/room. be honest to yourself for what happening in the past year from bad or good and what you get from all of this. then decided what you want to do to make it be better. and with GOD listening your pray I am sure he will give his bless to you. be totally honest with yourself, perhaps you will be surprise of how many mistake you make and maybe how many person you hurt and is not too late to appologized to them and make a new day in 2008. give a try...

Our office is discussing the way to celebrate New Year's Eve - problem is we all have to work next day and the majority are Muslims so are not celebrating anyway. I am sure something will come along I think I will go out to dinner.

And here I was brooding and thinking 'if ever there is a prize for the most boring way to spend New Year, I will win it almost every year'.

Ritz Carlton - fully booked

Rydges (aussie legends) - fully booked

Hotel Intercon (paloma)new year gala - still some table left for dinner at more or less. QAR400; entrance alone is QAR 200.

Sheraton: New year gala/dinner is +/-QAR 400 too; entrance at the Waterhole bar is QAR180

Ramada: QAR 100 for the entrance at the Qube while the New year gala at the Dhiwana ballroom (Ramada Hotel) is priced at QAR120

i think Doha is not celebrating new year...only expats do...as for me, just planning a dinner to bid goodbye to 2007 and welcome 2008...hoping this would be a good year for all of us..:)

If only there was a way to turn back the clock. The best New Year Eve I had was in the Year 2001. I spend it in my country with all my old friends, a bon fire and danced Panjabi bhangra to drum beats. Sigh!!!
