Is it true that nationals from Arab countries and Lebanon are exempted from tourist visas to Jordan?

Grantley - it is probably different for people from other countries. You forget how easy some of us have it when it comes to travelling.

I agree though, the visa for british passport is very very easy - buy stamp, stick in passport, go to immigration. It took 5 mins, including getting cash out at the handily located cash machine next to the counter where you buy the stamps (they only take cash).

.. but I recall a bit of to-ing and fro-ing, that was all.

When we went ... the visa for british passport seems easy (son and hubby). There is a counter that you can buy stamp (i think 10 pound) , they stick the stamp to the passport then you go to the immigration.

Google "travel Jordan", and the govt website will tell you what's required specific to your nationality.

but make sure you have a mandoub, as the process is a bit complicated. Took maybe 1/2 hour? We travel on American and Australian passports if that makes a diff.

My personal experience when we went to Jordan i applied my visa from the embassy in Qatar. Very simple straight forward. In fact it is the most easiest visa i ever applied in my life ! They just give you the form, you filled it up and you give it back to them with the money and your passport. And voila 3 days later you got your visa !!!

There are no stuffs like sponsor letter, 6 mths bank statement, flight print out, hotel voucher and all the likes.

They dont have any option for english. Probably they think that no non arab will ever visit their website or will need any information about their services. :)))
