Very disturbing, but unsurprising story.

Yes, it is about Sheikh Issa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and what transpired above was real.

Youtube has pulled the videos and heavily edited them due to their highly graphic nature, but for those of you who are not faint-hearted, here's a link to it.

once again, dont watch it if you have kids around, and NSFW

I think things like this happen all over the world, but most people are intelligent enough not to video it for their own pleasure at a later date..I mean how mental is that???

I wonder how that poor guy is doing??

Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fortune to run into the ones I do,and the eyesight to tell the difference.

actually emirates are the best one in the region cant say that for qataris especially after lot of influx of moeny. alexa ditto there are no rights :-)

QL is just a poster boy it doesnt brings rights or anything we need to ask the poor people who are actually facing the heat.

Ok go raise your concerns and probably nothing happens or if it happens the general attitude doesnt change at all the money goes to the head of people here so they think themselves above other people. Atleast in states or euro countries forget euro countries even asian countries people are so welcoming to guests to there countries only these areas are really going out of control.

i remember one of my friend had a fight in states and to cut the sotry short he had right to attorney and he could do something about it here first thing they ask from expat is his passport so they can deport first hahahhah shittt..

for example the other day the incident happened to a paki family i mean who hits a old guy and a women it was a local person here aint it...i am sure that local dude will just be fined few dinars and off he goes to another govnernment dept...

i am just sick to my guts there is no organization to help expats and WTF :-) even if there are they are just lame existances!

uff anyway too much heat is not good :-) cheers be happy and live like a second grade citizen thats the name of the game!

I would like to add that I have not heard of Qatari people torturing anybody. So far, as Smilingmoon said, Qatari people are nice and gentle. Let's just hope they don't copy the bad emiratis.

kunjarkatari, i am in total agreement with you that we are becoming abdul-dinar, abdul-luxuries...but luckily i have the deen that helps me a lot to become averse to it...having said that,is there any organisation here in qatar that looks and oversees the welfare of expatriates, specially those working as labourers? Can we not QLers expats form an organisation where we can raise our concerns to the appropriate department?

My reply to that somebody who compared this act of torture to a derby between tottenham and arsenal is: How can you compare the two? I tried to understand your view but could not see where you are coming from.

that's very wrong...

However the note at the end is messed up.

"If you're doing business in the UAE, be carefull."

Wouldn't it be more appropriate to say, "Be carefull who you do business with?".

I'm sure not all EMiratees are Royal Torturers.

I think it's easy to judge and point fingers - British soldiers dont have a perfect human rights record in post-war Iraq, and dare I mention the dreaded work "Guantanamo".

Personally, I've seen worse watching Arsenal fans trying to get out of Tottenham High Road after a North London derby - very disturbing...

Stevie Nicks books about kleptomania...

i-moody you are right although i feel very sad at how things are going we have lost our morality. we call ourselves muslims but we are worse then animals now especially us. recently there is influx of money and we are becoming not abdul allah but abuldinar.

we dont follow prophet pbuh but only money. there are so many inhumane things are going on in qatar and arab countries that if you raise any voice you are the one who is guilty.

i wish all the expats can also stand up for there rights otherwise these things will not stop at all.

Whether it is real or not, I have read about inhumane treatment of lower class expats in UAE. I would not be surprised at all if this is what happened.

I just pray that one day the governments of these expats will stand up and say : enough is enough. Not just because you give us a lot of $$$ in business you have the right to illtreat our citizens.

Humans are humans all over the globe, irrespective of skin colour, race, creed or religion...we are all created by the same one God. Our blood is red. None of us excretes shit that smells like perfumes whether we eat at posh restaurants/hotels or just eat on the streets.

I wish that one day this guy gets into an accident in a very remote place and finds only a very poor man in a position to save his life. Then, MAY BE, he can appreciate humanity.

From my side, I pray to God to curse all oppressors until they repent.

Alledgedly the Sheikh had it videoed for his own personal use, they will use it against him in court...there are legal proceedings going on from what I can gather.....still doesn't ring true!

still shots and the faces are not that clear. My point is, even if this IS REAL...how were the people got hold of this?

Sorry to be a "doubting Matilda" for I know nothing about the 'shiekdom' though I've been here in Qatar for 3 years...but I think it's a smear propaganda.

its a description of really brutal torture, and i'm not sure i can describe it on a public forum. The link is self-explanatory, and its just for awareness, and not for starting heated debates.
