Very Bad service from Etihadairways

****If you are tarveling with Etihad be carefull and make Sure You get your boarding pass from doha itself.****
Last week my family traveled to Pakistan Via Etihad. At Doha airport they were not given boarding pass for connecting flight from AUH-ISB saying that you will get your boarding pass in AUH in transfer desk. When they reached in AUH, Etihad staff said flight is overbooked and you can not travel today, and you have to wait till tomarrow and that is also not confirm. When my wife told them she can not wait till tomarrow, she has 2 children with her, and 2ndly its not her mistake our ticketes are confirmed, but they take it very lightly and they were very rude and just ignoring everybody saying they can't help it. They said we will give you hotel at airport if rooms are available otherwise stay at airport. Well after lot of tension/fight they allow them to board and they were given seats in two different places and she was told 2 manage it yourself. Anyways finally they reached ISB but without baggages. Its 3rd day now but no baggages yet,If you call Itihad, they'll hold you for hours and will say when we find them we'll send them and they give AUH airport no, and say please check with them. Now my sister wedding is coming up this week and all family's dresses/gifts everything is in baggages, if we don't get the baggages by tomorrow, we have to buy everything again:(. And nobody seems to take responsiblity in Etihad.
Can somebody beleive such a service from Int'l airline?
I hope it does not happen with anybody, but its just a warning for you to be carefull.

All airlines have their ups and downs. We cannot say they are always good or always bad. The rules are either black or white - they never do grey and the staff are forced to abide by them. Some of them accept to take risks and make decisions, but others are plain followers. The air hostesses are mostly snobbish when it comes to helping out a female passenger and that is known as a fact - but can I generalize? Na!

Anyway, Malang, I hope your family arrived safely and managed to get their luggage.

Thats what i asked them, there was gap of almost three hours between these flight, and they knew that flight is over booked why they did not stop boarding for AUH passengers.

went home to Munich on Christmas time twice on Etihad and both flights just sux! Too bad luck for me i guess.

First, delayed flight that i have to get stuck Doha Airport for 5 hours more and later rerouted to London Heathrow, another 5 hours, then finally Munich. What a journey!

Second, delayed delayed delayed.

Sure these can happen to any airline but shoudl not be this often.

Ground crew? Right! Should need another 101 hours of Customer Care training... simply put... nasty! Especialy the one kabayan supervisor who wears Arabic make-up. Simply nasty. I saw how they treated Pakistani passengers who nagges them of their poor service.

For Etihad... rating... "NI" Needs Improvement.

Hmm, something is very wrong here, considering that "through" passengers have priority over those boarding at AUH. It appears that Etihad violated standard airline practices. Do write to them and explain that you were connecting passengers and ask why those originating at AUH were not denied boarding instead. Since you took the flight they will not offer you any compensation. I'm afraid that lost baggage is jut a hazard of flying.

so the checkin staff at Doha saw on their computer that the Pakistan connecting flight was overbooked but they couldn't be bothered with a fight with you, and just sent you on your way.

Cowardly!

Check the "United Breaks Guitars" video / song on youtube. All airlines are the same when it comes to customer complaints.

If everything goes smoothly, every one is great... but u get stuck no one cares... then u get directed from one to another.. I can understand how depressing it can be... but thats how it is...

and this applies to any company, any industry ...without any exceptions...

Hope u get some good news by tomorrow... all the best.
