vehicle registration expiry date sticker

Failure to display prominently the stickers indicating the expiry date of a vehicle’s registration will cost a motorist a fine of QR300 and one negative point, a list of violations and fines issued by the Traffic Department says.
The list is part of a new traffic law that came into force in Qatar on October 2.
A vehicle owner is liable to be fined QR500 if he fails to inform the authorities of the loss or damage of the vehicle’s registration card (Istemara) within 10 days. Not applying for a fresh permit within 10 days is also an offence punishable by the same fine.
Non-intimation of loss or damage of driving licences and not returning one when found is an offence which can attract a fine of QR300.
Motorists who overtake school buses carrying children in residential areas will be fined QR500, the law says.
The list contains a total of 113 violations, 80 of which are given below. The remaining will be published shortly.

There was an article in Gulf Times online. Police will not give fines for lack of stickers if the car registration is in order.

I was not given a sticker either at the registration. Looks like it is a hidden treasure we have to dig in. Let me know too if you have any extra.

Yes, even I did not get the stickers for my car registration renewal. Does someone have any more information on this issue.

I think it should be adviseable to go and check at the traffic police station.

you dont need anything to pick the sticker. Just go and ask for it. At least i just asked over the counter and was handed over a piece. Simple as it was. Be clever and talk over the heads of waiting people on the quee. Even the guy at the reception in khalifa wont give you number to join the quee

Havent had a quick service in traffic police before this?

No sticker here too!

Now they want us to go back to their offices to get the sticker they should have provided when you registered....More time wasted. You don't even know if the sticker would be available.

What do you need to bring to get the sticker? Just the Istimara?

I am just coming from Madinat Khalifa police traffic. You just pick them from any counter (ladies) Just be good at saying it in arabic: ukhty mumkin stickers. She'll give you without any clarification. She gave an october 2008 one and i told her my renewal is due on september but she said that is what we have take it or leave it.

Good laws and good law enforcers.

Seems most people aren't getting stickers lately, even if they ask... How convenient...

Since the past 3 years I have not been given the sticker for the number plate after my Renewal!! Strange but True.. And they seem to use these stickers to stick some notice's on the counter at the Traffic Dept.. lol

I also don't have stickers. Anyone know when the City Centrre kiosk or the Traffic Police at Madinat Khalifa are open?

Perhaps this is a cunning plot to relieve unsuspecting motorists of QR 300.

Already got my stickers this morning.

Just simply ask the help desk section, he'll guide you which line you can redeem your stickers.

Try your luck @ the basement of Citycenter MOI kiosk or @ Mattar Qadeem traffic division.

BTW, it's free...
