useful answers or just plain rubbish

Interesting that many answers to QL questions are somewhat obscure. Mickey taking and general rubbish are commonplace. Appears to me that many just ignore the question or are so abvious as to be obtuse. Wonder why this is as it defeats the object of being a resource.

When a person is cheated it is his mistake. I don't deny. Still it does not make cheating legal on any website. Do you get me?

Sean you can do the same thing here. only thing is not everyone bothers to take that route.

Some people come here and ask dumb questions cos they prefer someone else to Google the answers for them and post them as replies. Kinda like a personal shopper.

I ask you, what's the number for 180. Dunno, ring 180 and ask them.

Every scamster comes up with that argument Mr. s_isale... however that does not stand up in court even for a minute.

Fraud is fraud. The seller never claimed that the car was defective and would not work, did he?

He did not let the buyer test it under the guise that it was in perfect working condition.

If the buyer can prove the sellers claims (paper cuttings, advertisement copies etc..) the buyer can take the seller to court and actually win. In fact in most countries, the buyer does not even have to go to court, the police would settle this themselves and put the buyer behind bars for fraud.

if the owner is not willing to give the vehicle for testing why should I be even bothered about buying it?

It wouldnt be tolerated anywhere. GIQ had the option of walking away and didnt do it

By anonymous• 23 Dec 2010 07:39

s_isale that does not condone the sellers actions to defraud the buyer.

Would this be tolerated in your home country?

GIQ - its your fault for buying the vehicle. If the owner was not willing to give for inspection why did you go ahead with the purchase???

Good question, and some good comments. There is a lot of bile that spills over into QL, and I have to admit sometimes I have been caught up in the moment and published things where perhaps the post could have benefitted from having a cup of tea and a soothing moment before hitting "Save".

There were some really good people here a couple of years ago and then I stopped coming in to QL for a long time, having ventured back into the fray three or four months ago.

It does seem to have become something of a battleground more often than not, but let's hope for better things in the future ....... I might even try to become more disciplined myself with some of the things that I post.

Isobel and Sallydeep....well said. Thanks for the input. The reason I asked the question was to eaise the profile of this situation...where frustration hinders helpful answers. Thanks for all... Let us hope that QL gets better and does not degenearte into a chat room. It is better than that.

I totally agree with Isobel, most people seem to just want to vent out their frustration. I'm cool with the funny ones but the rude and mean comments can totally put one off.

Let's be honest, may as well be a chat room for Qatar.

A few people may answer to help but as far as I can see QL is a vent for frustration.

Mostly one can find answers by just searching. My personal experience is that I had posted a question and I received a blackguard.

QL is used for advertising also. I bought a car through QL and the person did not allow me to take it to inspection and cheated me (I will not go into details) So, i ended up buying a scrap. There are forums in which people express their views and they do it in ridiculous ways.

Some people prefer to answer diplomatically and to protect themselves from libelling etc.

That is how it works.

I totally agree but then I guess it adds to some humor too. Some people can say the funniest of things in the midst of a serious conversation.

Now, the sad part is that I'm not able to give a "helpful" answer to that question...as QL kicks me out when I go to it...

well all i can say is there are some serious cases of.... umm whats the word.... silly and kinda naive questions that are asked, hehe an example case is one that i have answered just now.....check it out

like nish just said all they can do is just use search box, i mean its not rocket science, i mean you have made an account here so i dont think its so hard to figure out tht they can use the search box.....!!

....but they end up asking them anyway.....oh and dont forget the repetitve nature of some questions being asked again and again and again....

I also give rude answers at times to people. Thats because they just ask stupid questions. Believe me, 70% of the answers can be found by using the search box, but not even 1% of the public posting questions use it.

Ask no questions, you will be told no lies ;-) No, but seriously, many of the QLers do answer faithfully, i think it has something to do with bagging 3 points ;-P

Rubbish is unwanted or useless materials. Litter is waste which has been disposed of improperly, particularly waste which has been carelessly disposed of in plain sight, as opposed to waste which has been dumped to avoid paying for waste disposal fees.

In living organisms, waste is the unwanted substances or toxins that are expelled from them. More commonly, waste refers to the materials that are disposed of in a system of waste management.

Waste is directly linked to human development, both technologically and socially. The compositions of different wastes have varied over time and location, with industrial development and innovation being directly linked to waste materials. Examples of this include plastics and nuclear technology. Some components of waste have economical value and can be recycled once correctly recovered.

Waste is sometimes a subjective concept, because items that some people discard may have value to others. It is widely recognized that waste materials are a valuable resource, whilst there is debate as to how this value is best realized.

Well, most people give helpful/useful answers.

A lot of people are asking stoopid questions though.
