Hi this is not a joke. I have just heard that a fellow QLer is in desperate (and I mean desperate) need of a lawyer or similar. I have no such contacts myself, and would not even know where to start looking for one.
If you know of a lawyer who could possible attend a police station, or offer advice by phone urgently, please PM me as soon as possible.
Your help will be greatly appreciated.

So what IS the story? I don't know any lawyers here yet, but teh Embassy is definitely a good place to start.
But honestly, I hope it isn't as serious as it sounds! How can one just 'disappear'? Is this the un-brave new world?

They should contact the embassy and organise to send the family home. He might not get released soon if the offense is serious.
I've advised this QLer to contact their embassy.
Weird !....What kind of judicial system it is which does not allow contact with family members ? Should they assume he is dead for 15 days ?
