Aslam o Alikum and Good day all,

As my personal book library grows, few of old books which I feel hold less utilization based on my changing needs are in my plan to donate to school(s) in Doha.

This promoted that other QL members might be same boat as me, so why not so why not do a QL campaign on consolidated level, and not only we can donate books but also stop these gather dusts in our home.

As part of Qatar Finance Professional Group, which I manage this is invitation to all QL members to be part of this.

Have also spoken to Managers of QL Voluntaries Group and Qatar Living Pakistan Group, who have expressed interest.

Depending upon the response we may pass books to one or more than one school.

Particular useful books will be in categories of IT/Computers, General Management, Leadership, Accounting, Finance, Languages (Arabic, Urdu, English etc) and other General knowledge type.

Please share on this thread your contribution and also feel free to PM me with details.

Over the next few days we will gather the willing member, after which we can arrange collection and distraction to school.

Sharing knowledge is one of the best deed and thank you all.

I recently moved here and I had to donate my over 300 books away becasue of their weight. I wish I had them with me.

Nevertheless, All the best for the Great Cause.

irf77, the bunch of (extra clean) copies I have is back home. I cannot help with this now. On the other hand, you're right, I DO love my books, and don't or rarely loan them, among three things I don't loan..:P

I do not necessary have contacts in Arabic schools but have spoken to at least one Pakistani school, who will happily accept books in English, even Urdu etc. however depending upon type of response and books gathered we can donate where they are best utilized.

irf77, commendable initiative. It's just that I'm trying to figure out what schools would benefit from the specific types of books you mentioned up in your original post?

I guess my son has a lot of comic books on him and he doesn’t mind to spare. These comics might be of interest to young children. I will PM you a list over the weekend for the collection.
