ummmm.....

Perhaps if you took the time to engage that pulse in your head, you'd realise that:

a) - Based on my open statement, the price includes ALL tax

b) - if I worked for Qatar airlines I wouldn't waste my time placing it on QL

c) - The single room rate is 1309 not 2000

d) One thing I don't need, is you!

Ahh - so there is still alcohol in Dubai in Ramadan:

"Bars in Dubai are usually still open but patrons will be asked what religion they are and refused entry if they are Muslim. Live and loud music is banned, so is dancing, so most nightclubs in Dubai will be closed or very quiet. Bars in Abu Dhabi might be closed. Bars in Ras Al Khaimah usually stay open. Bars in Sharjah don't exist."

I wonder which are the bars in Dubai that will be closed altogether?

Still, it would be a bit annoying there being a tourist and not being able to get a bite to eat during fasting hours. It's not as if you can come home in the afternoon and make lunch.

On the up side - the hotels over there must be really struggling to make any money. Check out how cheap their Iftars are compared to Doha:

Just 1 example of Dubai's broke hotels:

Burj Al Arab - for those ready to spend up large, they offer Ramadan buffets for AED 290.

fubar Booze isn't a problem.. Bars r open for Non-Muslims or they were last year.. music isn't there but if u r fond of alcohol like me, shudn't deter u.. prostitutes don't disappear altogether mmyke but since demand is low during Ramadan, supply also decreases. Much more options for shopping as well compared to doha so its better for shopping as well..

So Dubai is about booze, beaches and shopping.

Am I right in thinking that Ramadan means:

* No booze ,or for that matter a decent array of food what with all the cafes and restaurants having to close like in Doha.

* It's too hot to go to the beach, and even if you did, you could sit by the water with even a glass of evian in your hand, much less a Pina Colada.

* The shops will be observing similar opening and closing policies as Doha - open briefly in the morning, closed for the rest of the day, then crowded like hell in the evenings.

Good deal or not, I think I'd prefer just to stay here rather than waste my money travelling to Dubai in Ramadan.

Don't forget - the reason there are special prices to Dubai in Ramadan is because no one wants to go, and for good reason.

the booze and prostitutes are gone,,Ramadan is in,,,what exactly were you going to do over there?? ski perhaps??

Ummm......you do need more, lunch & dinner for example. Obviously you work for QA or you'd realize these prices aren't so fantastic. Look at the prices most of them are for twin rooms. it's over 2000 for a single. Does this include taxes? and what's the point of going from one ramadan central to another?

Okay, so my husband said - why didn't we go for 3 nights!

I hear in dubia none of the shops are closed..

Now I can't wait!
