UAE's biggest recruitment racket exposed
Dubai: I am a dim-witted moron - a good-for-nothing lousy fellow with a horrendous track record, suggests my CV in big, bold letters. And yet I am flooded with job offers. There are so many companies wanting to solicit my services that I am spoilt for choice.
On September 18, I registered different versions of my inglorious CV with two UAE-based placement agencies - Dubai Gate and Al Aidy Al Mahirah. And voilà, 24 hours later, I was hired.

Is this even about the recruitment racket anymore?
what??
I dont understand, whats going on here??
Jon i dont have brains, but yeah my heads are big (both of them)
jon a, even if you win i wont risk my money on you
its a duel, my money on gunner!!
"let us not took about that"...lol
jon I value my money... I dont want to loose it ;)...
and since you have a eye on my ass I will keep away...
Stop turning this into an east v west.
It is sick that some people act as agents to dupe the poorest and vulnerable.
That is concern. It happens and these fraudsters actively go to poor countries in East Africa and Asia.
I dont care where I am from or where the victims are from I care about the vulnerable being exploited.
jon a ...your English suck... for a so called guy who has supposedly been in US for "so long"...
You really seem to have no sense of that language...
This Visa Racket frauds seems to be your favorite topic... why? ;-)...
jon ....now please dont send me those PMs of yours... telling me how you are going to fcuk me.... its getting a little predictable and boring...lol
so good that this kind of company is exposed.
living out of other people means!
Cheers to XPRESS!
brit I agree. There are a lot of such conmen out here in Qatar even. There are many who have suffered this. The worst part is if someone is conned, they prefer to keep silent than warning others of such cheats.
this is one of the miss happening, where i can't blame west ;O)
jon, we are not only looking at our problems, we are even very aware of them. You will find loads of problems discussed on tv and written about in newspapers. We discuss them and try to find solutions. We don't succeed in all we try to do, but at least we aknowledge them and try to fix them.
stealth, and again the same thing, more often than not they are tricked and used by their own countrymen. I did not say always.
To answer my own question....it is the countrymen, in most cases, of those people coming in illegally, and sometimes legally.
Just like some expats in the ME get duped by their own countrymen, more often that not even before they leave to come to the ME.
I wasn't disagreeing with you. I just said that this is a different type of abuse. We were discussing a specific case of Asian workers being conned in the UAE.
Don't you feel that it's wrong ?
well brit, i would take it if things are so clear cut in the west. What about those eastern europeans and russians tricked into coming to UK and work as prostitutes?
is the mob a good answer for you..
And who brings them into the country( most times illegally) and lets them toil in sweat shops?
Yes, human trafficking happens in the West. But this situation is totaly different. Here , it's a scam to get people to pay money up front without receiving the services.
Thumbs up
Nice Article
its as if the west is immune to all these things Nic.
I still belive the natives in Canada have a lot of problems after you white people stoll thier lands fix you country before you talk about us here at the GCC
Happening everywhere nowadays. TFS
happygolucky,
I am with you ;)
Nic... lol...I didnt say anything different... did I..:)
UAE to GCC... still more of 3rd world countries that can be added...:)
happygolucky,
what are the GCC countries, if not more than a "3rd world" infrastructure/society, disguised with fake "1st world" masks!
Nic...you gave it a new twist...:)
Not surprised… its just the typical 3rd world scams!
Pratts fleecing their countrymen....
Excellent article.
What a load of scumbags doing this.
On my travels in East Africa and Asia I have heard numerous times of 'agents' going to recruit. Basically they require a registration fee and are scamming the poorest people. The times I have had to emphatically state that this is totally illegal.
Really i hope they get reincarnated as a cockcroach in my flat so I can flatten them with my shoe.
Excellent article.. TFS
Sadly, there are too many people preying on desperate ones.
The golden rule is Never, Never part with money up front and be wary of "too good to be true" offers.
